Actually I like both eras about equally -- with a slight edge going to the Dave era, simply because it had more of a metal edge to it (though I may change my mind tomorrow about this )......and....as you know.....I luv me some metal. Diamond Dave's voice rarely held up all that well live, though. He placed too much emphasis on prancing around on stage....and not enough on singing well. Sammy on the other hand, almost always sounded fantastic live. Dave is of course batshit crazy too, but I still luv him.
