How old is the drive and is it a mechanical HDD or SSD?

Stop relying on free stuff. When it is free, it usually means you are the product my friend. Buy a BitDefender subscription. It's an excellent product and will protect you from most I/O (idiot operator) error on the Internet (don't get upset, you're not an idiot, but even the smartest of us do do stupid stuff).
Depending on type of malware you have, you may want to wipe your hard drive clean and restore your operating system and applications from a good backup, assuming you have one, or restore to factory settings, assuming the section of your hard disk that contains it is not affected.
Some malware are advanced enough to remain even after you do a factory reset, because they are hidden in a writable permanent memory on your hardware or in a section of your disk that does not get erased by that factory reset. In that case, it may be best to replace your motherboard and hard disk to remove any remnants. The ones that remain in permanent memory are usually created by security companies as spy tools for governments. They tend to be rare in the wild.

Backup all your important files to a usb drive or cloud service. Then go get a new SSD HD, they are insanely cheap anymore. Reinstall win 10. You will need to make a recovery disk before doing this. It will boot computer from USB or CD. Computer will feel like brand new, maybe even better than new if it didn't already have a SSD.

Check out M.2 drives which are even faster that SSDs.
M.2 prices are finally falling making them pretty cheap also. Plus as M.2 prices drop, this is making SSDs prices drop even faster.

IIRC, M.2 requires support of the MB where SSD's do not. Could be mistaken cause I've been out of computers for a while.

I am reading this for the first time. From your original post from last year:

Have run superantispyware free edition
spybot s&d
avast free antvirus
avg antivirus
malwarebytes

superantispyware is trash
you have 2 anti-virus. All they do is conflict with each other, won't protect your computer more and better.
AVG is a bloated piece of shit nowadays. Used to be the best even the free version was great. Now it's as bad as McAfee and Norton.


All you need is BitDefender full version and you can find it for free and Malwarebytes.


Also never fill up your hard drives, internal or external, past 70-75%.

I would delete some cash files from all the software not being used often. You can use CCleaner for that. I always use this software to clean up my PC, and it always helps.

anyhoo,
1. get a good anti-virus/malware/spyware w/ firewall utility and use it (free or paid).

2. periodically, backup your most important folders/files to an external drive and optionally to the cloud.

3. periodically, clean up your system. CCleaner and IOBit's Advanced SystemCare have decent free versions. when i run them, they delete/remove about 1GB of out-dated or useless files. not a lot when you consider i have a 1TB on my laptop, but it clears out crap.

4a. if your anti-virus/malware/spyware utility has a website/page checker (looks for known hacked or spoofed or fake sites), set it up in the browser(s) you use.

4b. if you have a HDD, run defragmenting software continuously or periodically. if you have an SDD, you dont need to defragment it.

5. use a completely separate browser for browsing porn, provider sites, tinder, seeking.com, etc. Clear cookies, cache, history upon exiting the browser.

that's what i do and has kept my desktop & laptop systems clean for almost 15 yrs. i only have antimalware on my tablet and smartphone, but i do use a separate browser there.

I'm still around and my computer is still acting up.. My computer started acting up after i started going to those porn sites and adding bookmarks. Computer is slow to boot up.

Its a windows 10 and started messing up after going to redtube - pornhub type websites 3 years ago. This computer that i'm replying on is my backup computer and is too old to go to those sites so i surfed those sites on my newer computer.
Its slow to start up and slow to load the browser

For Windows I've always used free Avast AV, Malwarebytes and CCleaner and have had hardly any problems.

...in July of 2019! And you still have the same issues despite pages (literally) of good advice? You need to get on EBay and search for a good condition Timex/Sinclair!
