he's not broke. in fact he's loaded. he's playing that tried and true game of "when sued for money, claim you're broke!".
Marlon Brando, a serial philanderer with at least 11 known children and possibly more was constantly being sued over support and paternity. his attorneys claimed he was broke. when he died he suddenly was worth 22 million. imagine that! and he cut out some of his kids from his estate. strange dude him. but he had himself one hell of a life.

Hollywood actor Marlon Brando, who died last week, has left behind an estate worth $21.6m according to his will, quashing reports that he died virtually penniless.
Despite Brando's success in films such as Superman, Last Tango in Paris and Apocalypse Now, he was said to have been $20 million (£10.9 million) in debt, living on social security payments and his pension from the Screen Actors Guild at the time of his death.
True to his secretive life, the intensely private star's last wishes raised fresh questions about his family ties, as he cut at least two heirs out of his will and revealed the names of two previously unknown children among his 10 surviving offspring.
Details in his will show that contrary to reports from his biographer who said he was nearly destitute before his death, Brando retained actually a sizeable fortune and an income of $500,000 dollars a year.
The star of "A Streetcar named Desire" (1951) and "On the Waterfront" (1954) died of lung failure in Los Angeles on July 1 aged 80.
The core of Brando's financial assets consist of a hilltop estate on Los Angeles' Mulholland Drive, reportedly worth up to $10 million, and his Tahitian atoll, Tetiaroa, his private retreat, court documents shows.
Brando ordered his assets, including around $8.6 dollars in real estate and three million in other property said to include paintings, sketches and rare scripts, to be transferred to what the will refers to as a "living trust."
The will did not state who would inherit what from Brando's estate, apart from "certain monthly payments" to two named female friends. But it referred to the terms of the trust, which under California law can remain secret.
