Appeals only happen when there is error in application of law, process, or procedure. As that has to be proven to the court of appeals, it's a possibility to get a conviction overturned and thus a new trial perhaps, but we are so far away from that, miles in fact, that the shoe still has to drop from the trial. You fella's seem to have already given up that there is gonna be a conviction. I thought the consensus was a hung jury or acquittal earlier?

Sadly what the trial - which should have been show on TV, demonstrated is just how shady all these dealings to control / spin / kill / or otherwise adjust the narrative on the public view. And Trumps approach, right or wrong, is just like a typical mob boss. Even the fact that he loves to be called "the Boss", is a bit overly dramatic.

Lets see what happens in the next 7-14 days. I'm certain we're gonna have some unhappy campers regardless of the outcome.

Which has already happened a number of times thanks to the corrupt judge

Well when you have a corrupt judge and a clearly biased NY jury, one can get the sense the fix is in.

Which application of law do you think judge Merchon has been party to?

I think he's been VERY accommodating to the defense.

... Hee Hee! ... oh yes! ... ...

VERY fair-minded in a case where Bragg perverted the Law
and used testimony from past LYING "witnesses"...

... Reckon opinions DO vary greatly with things, mate.

Well besides egregiously not allowing the defense to call its own expert witness, or his refusal to recuse himself when he has a clear conflict of interest with his daughter, there are a host of others. Corrupt Merchan is stacking the jury instructions on the federal election law issues that shouldn’t even be in state court. Merchan is compounding his prior errors in preventing Brad Smith from applying his election law expertise for the defense. That is just a starter

I will let the very well respected legal mind of Jonathon Turley explain it for you. Note the BOLDED portions

With the closing arguments set for Tuesday in the trial of former president Donald Trump, defense counsel are in a rather curious position.

There is still debate among legal experts as to the specific crime that District Attorney Alvin Bragg is alleging.

Trump’s lawyers are defending a former president who is charged under a state misdemeanor which died years ago under the statute of limitations. It was then zapped back into life in the form of roughly three dozen felonies by claiming that bookkeeping violations — allegedly hiding payments to Stormy Daniels to ensure her silence about a supposed affair with Trump — were committed to hide another crime.

But what is that second crime?

Even liberal legal analysts admitted that they could not figure out what was being alleged in Bragg’s indictment. Now, after weeks of trial, the situation has changed little.

Originally, Bragg referenced four possible crimes, though is now claiming three: a tax violation or either a state or federal campaign financing violation. The last crime is particularly controversial because Bragg has no authority to enforce federal law and the Justice Department declined any criminal charge. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) did not even find grounds for a civil fine.

Judge Merchan has ruled that the jury does not have to agree on what that crime is. The jury could split into three groups of four on which of the three crimes were being concealed and Merchan will still treat it as a unanimous verdict.

The jury has been given little substantive information on these crimes, and Merchan has denied a legal expert who could have shown that there was no federal election violation.

This case should have been dismissed for lack of evidence or a cognizable crime. The jury will be reminded that the burden is on the government, not the defense.

However, the presumption of innocence is often hard to discern in criminal cases. Most jurors believe that clients are sitting behind the defense table for a reason. That is why many prosecution offices have conviction rates in the 80%-90% range.

That presumption is even more difficult to discern when the defendant is named Trump and the jury sits in Manhattan.

----

Clearly the corrupt Merchan is wrong as the Supreme Court has previously ruled the jury must be unanimous on every element (it can’t be 4 believe one predicate and 8 believe another)

Berry, respectfully the laws that have been broken have been spoken about adnasueum and it's falsifying business records and 2nd is doing so to influence an outcome of an election. The intent (which has to be proven by Bragg etal,) is by corroborative evidence that has been supported by the testimony of Daniel's, Cohen, and also the notes and recollections of all the supporting witnesses. Course the jury could come back and think that they are all conspiring against Trump, but I don't believe that's what's going to happen.

When you try to change the outcome of an election by falsifying business records etc it's the beginning of the end. -Just ask John Edwards.

Sadly that other judge presiding over the Georgia elections case, has put the kaibosh on so we'll never know about that till another date, if ever.

The best thing that Biden could do if Trump is convicted, is to offer him a pardon for the remainder of the federal cases - so that the country can just move on. Frankly the guys taking up too much oxygen over banging a pornstar when the country needs to be focused on other things non-Trump related.

... Oh, no no no no... NO pardon... None necessary.
The prosecution's case is so flawed that a conviction
will be overturned.
And I'd hate to see the New President coming next year
then decide to pardon Joe Biden for all the crimes that
Joe committed.

"Equal Treatment Under the Law" is what we're gonna see
- starting Next Year... For Michael Cohen and everybody else.

Well opinions are a dime a dozen. Jury gets to decide this one this week. You team RED are betting hung jury.

The Team America is betting CONVICTION.

Guilty or Not Guilty
I can and WILL accept either outcome, because Melania got to hear Donnie wish her "a happy Birthday from the courthouse doorway."

What an absolute charmer of a guy, - she likely never heard any part of it. (I don't really care, do you)

Trump just spoke after the jury goes in to deliberate his level of guilt or innocence.

He All but cried that he's gonna lose! I have to agree, there is plenty of reason for him to be EXTRA nervous.

While his final fate is still to be determined - the last minute attempt to control the narrative is ridiculous. "Waahh waah wahh..I'm gonna lose.". Mother Theresa...couldn't win ; I'm as innocent as Momma Theresa- surprised he didn't burst into flames.

Trump -Trial is rigged.

District Attorneys - no it's not.

Fox News and GOP attorneys - we get paid either way.

The jury is gonna be greeted with delight and threats. Guess which side is going to be delighted and which will threaten them?

This ridiculous farce will be overturned on appeal. Meanwhile the idiots on the left keep turning Trump into a martyr and he gets stronger support by the day

Massive amount of fundraising today and tons of people who never voted for Trump in the past now stating firmly they will support him as they can see how dangerous the Leftists have become with their perversion of the justice system

Going to be so sweet to see

Cohen did bomb on the stand. That is a fact. Any real and competent legal analyst will tell you that. But when you have a corrupt judge and a completely biased jury facts don't matter which is why I called what I did

I have to laugh at the leftists that can't see how real Americans understand what is going on and this furthering their support of President Trump
