Luling, City Marker a favorite of mine. I grew up on Blacks in Lockhart. In town Eds Smoke-N-Q 900 W.W.White Rd. Mr. "J''s S. New Braunfels Ave. Both have the small family owned feel. Don't go for the ambiance or cloth napkins. Dignowity Meats on E. Houston St. their brisket-mac & cheese sandwich!!!

And to think in the 15 years I've lived here I only knew about bill millers barbecue. I've missed out on so much!

If you want fantastic brisket tacos or nachos, I recommend Casa Rosa on Basse- Just a clean little dive, but it is the most tender I've had. Go early, they close at 2 pm!

Locally, I have lots of love for Smoke Shack, followed by Big Bib. The Granary is in a class by itself. You haven't lived until you have tried their beef short rib pastrami (a one day per week special) and their barbecue butter.

May need to try that Smoke shack now. Frietzes in Boerne is good. But two best places I have had are in Austin. Franklins is hands down best. La Barbecue is right behind.

Smoke shack all the way. The truck on the corner on Nacodoches and 410 rocks.

Made some of those onion bombs yesterday! They were pretty tasty.
