What a stupid distorting typical lawyer.
If you are stupid enough not to view a valid check as money then you are some fucked up old white man that claims he is a Democrat while preaching all things Republican.
Oh wait you are that fucked up person.
A valid check is no longer money folks...despite the fact that you can deposit it , write checks against it or withdraw that thing called cash from that account. Next you will say cash is not 'money' only gold is. You are almost back in the Pony Express days old man.
LL....you buy a car with 'money'? Or do you write a check? Or does your shitty lawyer'n ass have to take Public transportation?
You keep defending the indefensible and the left will do the same and then you can all bitch about how the country is going to shit ...

Yea, that Texas Legislature is chucked full of ..... "stupid lawyers" who "distort"!
Texas Business and Commerce Code § 3.104:
"(f) "Check" means (i) a draft, other than a documentary draft, payable on demand and drawn on a bank or (ii) a cashier's check or teller's check. An instrument may be a check even though it is described on its face by another term, such as "money order."
You sound more and more like YOUR MAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE ...
Your Covey of BimbHoes must be impressed with you DAILY!!!!!
Texas Penal Code:
"Sec. 31.06. PRESUMPTION FOR THEFT BY CHECK OR SIMILAR SIGHT ORDER. (a) If the actor obtained property or secured performance of service by issuing or passing a check or similar sight order for the payment of money, when the issuer did not have sufficient funds in or on deposit with the bank or other drawee for the payment in full of the check or order as well as all other checks or orders then outstanding, it is prima facie evidence of the issuer's intent to deprive the owner of property under Section 31.03 (Theft) including a drawee or third-party holder in due course who negotiated the check or order or to avoid payment for service under Section 31.04 (Theft of Service) (except in the case of a postdated check or order) if:..." ..
.. .just INSERT the word "Money" for "check" and indict!!!!! ..
....as per the Travis County DA's Office and Lawyer WTF!!!!!!
"Texas Penal Code
Section 1.07. (46-a) "Sight order" means a written or electronic instruction to pay money that is authorized by the person giving the instruction and that is payable on demand or at a definite time by the person being instructed to pay. The term includes a check, an electronic debit, or an automatic bank draft."

When I watch House of Cards I think Tom Delay. He epitomized what is was so wrong with the right in DC.
He may not have gotten what he deserved but we got what we needed. Him out of Congress.
Term limits!!!

I'm surprised that partisan Democrats don't consider Tom DeLay a great national hero.
Arguably, he did more than anyone (save for George W. Bush) to get dozens of Republicans tossed from congress in 2006.

Both parties have "bad apples," but the way to get people out is to vote them out, not cut and paste bullshit criminal charges against them and persecute them in the opposition's stronghold.
If the voters in Travis County want to keep a Dumb Ass Drunk Political Hack in the DA's office .... so be it. Just cut off her reach statewide .. and leave such activities to the Attorney General's Office.

I'm surprised that partisan Republicans don't consider Obaminable a great national hero for the same reason..... we'll see in about 5 weeks how good a job he's done.

I agree, and that's exactly the point I made in a couple of posts a year or two ago. Getting 63 Democrats tossed from the House in 2010 was an epic failure. I opined shortly before the 2012 presidential election that patient progressives willing to play a "long game" might reasonably have rooted for a narrow Romney victory.
Then Republicans, feeling flush, would likely have overplayed their hand in 2013-2014, setting the stage for a huge Democratic wave in '16 -- at which time the Dems would be likely to win back the presidency and take the House to boot. And who seriously believes Republicans would have a shot at the Senate in 2014 (or 2016, for that matter) if Romney were president today.
Never underestimate either party's propensity to shoot itself in the foot after grabbing control of most of the political power levers!

Like the AG is not someone ''opposition's stronghold''. That simple fact will go over your head though.
What a partisan tool you are LL.
Tom DeLay would have been voted out of office....that is why he decided not to run again.

That bitch in Travis County is a puppet for whoever will keep her out of jail and in office.
.
Don't get me wrong. I don't agree with the way it was done but do realize that when you go throwing your weight around as much as Delay did your day is coming. He was entrenched in DC and played the game so well that it took someone with connections and a puppet outside the beltway to bring him down. Hell, even SJL doesn't have that many enemies.
You don't just vote a guy like Delay out unless he seriously fucks up or gets fucked over ( I think he got both). Who's gonna waste real money running against someone like him in a primary. It's a GOP district, other than a two year term by Nick Lampson helped by gerrymandering they haven't had a democrat in that seat in damn near 40 years.
Term Limits!!!

The GOP has this slogan "Drive to 245". They fully expect to get 245 seats in the house come November and a good chance of winning the Senate. If they get close to a super majority we had all better be rooting for Ron Paul, Gary Johnson or Tebow forbid, Kinky for President in 2016 otherwise you're gonna see the legislation of morality like you've never seen before. How the fuck am I gonna watch porn then?

I agree. As I said in my OP, I am no if fan of Delay.
It just irked me to no end that a partisan piece of shit like Ronnie Earl could go after him on such trumped up charges when big labor unions and other Democrat cash cows were doing much worse.

When the Democratic Party had a stranglehold on Texas politics through the LBJ-Connally years there was hardly a peep .... from these whining liberals.
I prefer a strong "2-party system" (or strong "multi-party system" if that notion is preferred), but the whining liberals in this State should have figured out that the "shoe is on the other foot soon enough" .....
and more importantly their HATRED for a particular person can create precedence for the opposite party to persecute one of their own.
When the State of Texas (or any governmental body) prosecutes for political reasons and distorts penal statute language to do so, it hurts EVERYONE.
The majority of the average voters in this country are pissed. That environment doesn't bode well for "tenured" elected officials, whether local, state, or Federal.
Unfortunately there are ignorant, political hacks like WTF who believe in it.
And he doesn't want to resist ISIS?????

The AG is voted statewide (in case you hadn't known that FACT).
Or would you rather have one county running the rest of "your State"?
How about Cass County?

Of course that was long before Al Gore invented the Internet.
Not to mention the fact that the GOP was nonexistent at Texas during that time.
You obviously were too busy trolling for prong to suck in Clarksville at that time to remember "straight."
