Stupidity, naivete, or whatever you choose to label it, runs in both directions. Does receiving or performing an SS constitute risky behavior? Yes. Does it lead to BBFS? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the individuals involved, and the passion of the moment.

Thinking that simply avoiding the SS makes the hobby "safe" is a foolish perspective at best. Almost every hobby activity beyond a handshake carries with it a certain amount of risk. Body to body contact, the exchange of bodily fluids, and the possibility of mishaps across the board all involve risk, no matter how you sugar coat it. Period, end of story.

This post isn't to advocate or frown on any type of hobby behavior or safe practice. It's simply a observation on the thought process of avoiding one particular act to remain "safe" while engaging in others inherent with risk is foolhardy and misguided.

Like everything else in life, every behavior has a risk/reward factor. Intelligent and thinking individuals do the best they can to minimize risk without living a paranoid life.
