Thanks for providing the stats, but they don't match AB's six year stretch.
AB 686 receptions for 9145 yards.
GOAT 608 receptions for 8511 yards.
What I said is true, and I didn't come up with it out of thin air. I've heard multiple top level NFL players say that AB put together a six season stretch of WR statistics that was unmatched. TThey are who alerted me to it.

they match nearly perfect. only 500 yards over 6 years is less than 100 yards a season on average prove it was hardly unprecedented in fact Brown was trying to equal Rice who'd already done it.
your claim no else was close to that output over 6 straight seasons is proven wrong.

When people can't argue against the real point, they put up a straw man, which is what you've just done, unless you can find a quote where I said that no one was even close. Keep in mind that "unmatched" and "not even close" are not necessarily synonyms. In boxing, for example, a 50-0 fighter's record is unmatched by a 49-1 boxer.
And BTW, it's 634 yards, so more than 100 extra yards per season. More than an extra games worth per season. Why skew the numbers? It's basic math.

i guesstimated it and was close enough for "basic math" the point at a glance is Brown was actually trying to duplicate what Rice had done.
the fact that Brown did exceed Rice's prime "six straight" years is impressive but hardly unprecedented or vastly superior stats-wise.

It was easy to see at first glance that it was more than 600 rather than less than. How do you look at 9145 and 8511 and guesstimate that they're less than 600 apart?
My contention about the great WR AB remains true. You're arguing for no reason.

I agree AB was never the same after the Burfict hit. That hit was brutal. There are varying degrees of concussions and brain bruising. He likely suffered a small subdural hematoma and returned to physical activity too soon without the rest and medical treatment required to make a sufficient (but possibly never full) recovery. I'd be curious to see if he had just a CT afterwards or if they skipped the extra step and ignored a follow up MRI. Regardless, damage definitely done. Check out his interviews before the hit...he spoke well, respectfully and seemed to read the room well. Afterwards, complete Mr Hyde.

Again, comparing stats from a receiver playing under. Today's rules vs a receiver playing in the 70s is not logical. Relievers back then were not afforded the kid glove rules they have now. And the hits back. Then we're far worse then today and absolutely way more common
AB. Was an ass before the burfict hit, Troy wanted to beat the crap out of him.... great Talend but an arrogant ahole

Jacuzz is right a wreck at 110 on McKnight rd. would probably have killed everyone involved.
You are a public figure you are held to a higher standard!
He should have sat in county for a while as you or I would have for wreckless driving and wreckless endangerment, these are crimes!
Then he should have been let go!

Why am I not surprised that you revel in his downfall. In fact I already knew that you did before this random rant.

When I was around the age that he was I got a ticket going a lot faster than that and didn't spend a day in jail, nor did I lose my job. They never even found out about it. It was out of state so I didn't even lose my license. Hefty fine though.

Absolutely was an ass before the hit. Exponentially bigger ass afterwards.

Well, Jerry Rice was playing High School ball in the 1970s, so definitely not fair to compare.
I agree with what you're saying though. Hard to compare players from different eras with different rules, but what we can do is compare them to players in their era, and during that 6 year stretch he was the absolute best WR in the entire world, so I'm not sure why people want to downplay that or argue against it. I can probably guess why for a couple people, but I'm not gonna do it here.

Yep, kind of a stereotypical diva receiver before, crazy self destructive after.
One thing I'll say about the thing with Troy and Ryan Clark, it was over something he said to Dick Lebeau in training camp, and I agree that he was wrong, but AB appeared on Ryan Clark's podcast and gave his side of what happened, and RC did not disagree with what he said, which was that a DB, I think from the context maybe Ike, but he didn't name him, blatantly slapped him in the helmet in bump and run. Next time up, AB slapped the DB in the helmet and Lebeau went off on him for it, and AB went off on him back. With the age difference it doesn't totally excuse it, but I can understand AB being pissed at that. Like, your guy can head slap me but I can't head slap him back.

That would be a nice matchup, AB in his prime versus Dick Lebeau in his prime.

My post was not in reference to rice. It was to Swann and Stallworth and any other great receiver back before the defenses were handcuffed to improve offensives
I agree AB was the best for that span but credit to big Ben also.
