Anderson Cooper does a nice job here during a phone interview. The followup posted comments are hilarious.

yadda, my man you are the f-ing king. I HATE that you are right about that though.

And the first geese fly over happened just as it started. I mean 9:59:59 they flew over us. A perfect V in free flight. It was the most beautiful thing in the world. There were 2 more fly overs I saw and 1 I didn't get to see because I was talking to an incredibly awesome black democrat family that had come. Do you know what they told me... They said, they were terrified to come to something that was sure to be mostly white. They told me they were treated more like family on that day than at their own family reunions. It was like every NON racist person in America showed up. <-their words. The dad told me he had never known there were this many good kind white people in the country. They believed in the message Beck was trying to get across...they didn't think there would have been any meanness but to have so much niceness just shocked them.

It was really wonderful to see first hand that the liberal media is completely FULL OF SHIT. It's now no longer second hand information for me. It's liberating to say the least.<-pun intended

PS It's the people that vote straight tickets and don't pay extremely close attention to what they are voting for that have contributed a great deal to the problems we have now. Yes TTH that's a direct comment aimed at you (and myself a few years ago.) You can't stand up for what you believe if you have no idea what it is. The democrats that have been voted into office lately aren't democrat at all. They are all progressives and progressives are NOT in line with what America stands for. There's a huge difference between a good American Democrat and a progressive in Democrat clothes. I'd think the Dems would be way more pissed about that than the GOP. They are hiding in YOUR ranks.... and you not only let them but allocate resources to help them along the way.

Things are about to change, and no yellow dog straight ticket will help these traitors to our flag.

*Note* I could give a rip what anyone believes, as long as they believe it. Really believe.

Kayla,

I agree that being RIGHT doesn't make it "right". I have traveled the world and there is a political price to pay for your skin color. I wish all people could travel to Europe and Asia and see how people of color are treated and not given the first break in life.

I think all Americans should have the means (public or private) for a good education and health care....but NOT funded by the government. I think the government can help with bank loans (stand behind the loan if needed) but not direct funding. The individual has to be held responsible for paying back the tuition, or getting grants from private institutions. Heath care should be purchased or if your too poor to purchase health insurance then a charity hospital should be available, privately and publicly funded. What the dems don't want to tell the poor is that "Rich people will get better care than you will, because they can pay for it." Fact of life. Even in England and Canada the myth of "Socialized" health care being fair is very wrong. Don't get cancer in England, because if you think the socialized system will pay for an operation (they will SCHEDULE one) but you will be dead before your half way up the list. However if your rich you will pay for a doctor, hospital and recovery.....in a private hospital.
What makes me mad is when they take money from their own citizens and then act like Fing hero's when the give some of it back.....THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH and GOVERNMENT IS INCOMPETENT.
We need to slap the doctors and hospitals back into reality and everyone pay for their own stuff.

Yeah, I saw the Anderson Cooper interview with her. Don't know whether I cringed more during that or the Jan Brewer "brainfart" moment.

Since I've had a couple of days to think about it, I'm stepping back a bit on EBJ. Not because I condone/understand what she did. I certainly don't. But for me, an anonymous guy on an escort board, to be throwing stones at someone because of their lack of "ethics" seems more than just a bit hypocritical.

I know, I know--we're not public servants on eccie. But lets remember; we all carry some ethical baggage. Some more than others.

TexasT,

Unlike what EBJ did for over 5 years, prostitution is a very gray area.

I get angry when people claim we are on some lower ethical ground because we are "breaking a law" by seeing escorts.

To me, if prostitution is legal in some states like RI and Nevada, I have no clue why other states get away with making it illegal in others.

If you really believe the ACLU or NOW truly cares about and looks out for the oppressed, why aren't they out there suing states that prohibit a woman from using her body for income via sex? Women can sell their body for modeling and all other forms of advertising, in some states, they can make porn films and earn significant cash. Playboy and other adult magazines sell nude images and make money as do the models.

But a woman. who has already been told it is her body and can abort a baby whenever she wants, can't give a handjob or suck or fuck in Texas without a ticket?

Give me a break.

What EBJ did is illegal in every state. it is not just unethical, it was ILLEGAL and violates the Tax Code.

I hope her entire family gets fined for breaking the tax laws.

This attitude, that education is a private good, will condemn us to mediocrity. The workers that our kids are going to be competing against are being provided with a "free" college education by the governments of the countries that they live in. (Yes, I know it's not arguably free, but it's paid for by everyone through taxes. But it is free to the recipient of the education). Hence, the workers they compete with won't have huge college loans. (Nor will my kids because I'm paying cash for their Ivy League educations since they don't qualify for financial aid.) So only the children of the wealthy and those who are from abroad will enter the work force without crushing debt. There's a recipe for success. I really wonder if people even think through even the most basic implications of what they believe.

And lest you think that college debt will only enslave them economically, note this article:

TTH- If you want to go to Harvard it costs a million dollars. If you don't have a million dollars, you can't go. Looking to me and my fellow tax payers to pay for you to go to a ivy league school is wrong.
Having the desire to do something and having the means is two different things. If you don't want the "crushing" debt associated with a top of the line education then go to UT or North Texas.....
And if you did get a Harvard education why couldn't you pay it back? I just hate this "free cheese" mentality.
Nothing personal, just my way of seeing things.

America (We) are being rule by the poliitical elite; EBJ is just a symbol of this corrupt class. The answer isn't in the Republican or Democratic party but in a 2nd American Revolution in which all these elitists (black, brown and white) are thrown out.

If you want to elevate your outrage over EBJ; just google her handling of the John Wiley Price legal battle; she is trying to avoid being disposed and as lobbied her legislative frineds to adopt special legislative provisions which will exempt her form compliying with Price's supeona. She is as crooked/corrupt as they come; but she will likely be re=electected by the ignorant masses who populate her district !

I have no student loans nor will my kids. My folks paid for my private college and I paid for my public law school. I'm paying Ivy League tuition, all cash, for kids, one undergrad, one professional school.

However, even four years of State school and three to five years of professional school at a State school can leave families in deep, deep debt and in a very uncompetitive situation viz a viz their peers in other industrialized democracies. Their European and Asian peers will essentially pay nothing for their higher education in most cases.

It's not s question of giving away free stuff like a college education to people; we are broke and can't afford the government that people like TTH are demanding!

It sounds very noble to demand free healthcare, daycare, education, elderlycare, food stamps, corporate bailouts, yada, yada, yada; but the US is a debtor nation and cannot afford these things!

All of you or most of you bring up some good topics- however, it's sad that the country is divided between Dems and Republicans but basically all of them have their share of crooks. The one thing I agree about the TEA party supporters is that there are too many politicans from both parties that need to go. For example, I don't think it was designed for people like McCain to be in office for so maning iy years- ditto to the former members who are no longer with us like Byrd and Kennedy- I am totally for term limits. What you have now is too many politicians who are not serving their people but are staying in office to get re-elected and they will do anything they can to get re-elected- people like Rangel and Johnson need to go!

How does every other industrialized democracy afford these things then?

They're richer than we are, or just better at delivering services?

And wellendowed1911, term limits would be a disaster. All the power would go from members to permanent staff. It take about three terms in Congress to have a good idea what you are doing, what the rules are, and how to pass legislation, not to mention draft technically sound legislation. Put a perpetual rotating cast of rookies in office who couldn't find their ass with a flashlight and a mirror and then the staff, many of whom work in government their entire life, takes over as the actual members are so reliant on staff because of their own honest ignorance.

Seems to me that "The Flat Earth Society" is alive and well. Ignore facts, just go with conventional wisdom as defined and bankrolled by Rupert Murdoch and Fox.

BTW, I don't know and wouldn't waste the energy to find out, but does anyone know whether or not goodl ol' Rupert ever bothered to become an American citizen? It would just be too symmetrical if he never has and all of these good people are taking their pointers from a "gol-dang furriner" and his Howard Stern wannabe minions...wheeeeee!
