They are not "confidential" ... lots of shit is marked "confidential" (even in all caps), but "essential" persons can get access to them ... medical and pharma personnel ... log on and inquire. One can go through their primary physician for an inquiry as to who has looked at them, but that may end up being a number only.

Don't think that's accurate. Your credit score and your bank is connected to your social security number. Your medical records and police records are as well. Any type of loan you take out will be connected to your social, too. I'm not sure what else is, but I'm sure there's more.
