Her role in the film was not that of his "bond girl," and if you'd seen the film you'd know that.

No her role was that of Moneypenny; the movie was a set up for her to ascend to that role. The Bond Girl is the hot Asian chick. If you could have gagged back the black on white sex long enough, you'd have seen her. She is beautiful, but no more so than the Moneypenny.

I think your perceptions are all wrapped up in your racism. I knew a couple of black girls in the hobby that were the nicest people on the job or off. Tell me that Halle Berry is not attractive or (for some of you older types) Jennifer Beals.

Yes, Naomi Harris is Ms Moneypenny. She is the last piece of the puzzle. I hear a lot of crap about how Daniels looked. Do you understand that his character had just been shot at the direction of M, he fell a long distance into a river where he should have drown. He was still recuperating, his wound hadn't healed, and he probably would look like crap.

Actually you are the one who's a racist, not me.

Halle Berry and Jennifer Beals???

Those girls are very light skinned half-African Americans Dude! Those two have a parent as white as Obama's mother lol.

Why is it when guys like you claim you are not racist you trot out some girl who has very little African ancestry and say, "Wow, she's a real beauty! She proves black women can be beautiful too!!!"

You are just like all the people in the advertising industry who always pair a dark skinned black man with a light skinned black women in commercials or magazine ads. In the world of Madison Avenue black men can be dark skinned, but black women cannot be. For that matter what about all the pure African-American girls who I get calls from wanting work and claiming they are "mixed" when they are not.

The girl who I spoke about who I worked with and turned out to be a monster was GORGEOUS, and she was a dark-skinned, pure African American with total African ancestry.

Maybe to you in your hypocracy she wouldn't be beautiful like the less-than-half-real-African Halle Berry or Beals or the blue-eyed Vanessa Williams.

Physical beauty is only skin deep as well as in the eye of the beholder.

Like I said I think many dark-skinned pure African women are gorgeous, but that's just my opinion.

Consider that before you tag someone else with having "racism."

btw...

I really didn't want to bring this up, but the only time I was ever married was to a woman in Africa when I lived there....a pure black woman.

Chew on that too before you accuse someone of "racism."

Go pump yourself racist. Let's try Pam Grier, Naomi Harris, Roxie Roker, and Charlize Theron (who is African). I also have a hankering for Arab women, Indian (both kinds) women, Hispanic women, and especially Asian women.

I noticed that you use that word "pure" a lot. I have heard that somewhere else about pure bloodlines and all. Do you really think people are like animals? Wonder what that says about you.

Here is the scoop, you probably know that nearly every black person in this country can find someone who is not black in their familiy tree. So nearly every black woman you are likely to see on TV is of mixed heritage. Take that up with those nice liberals in Hollywood. But you need yours "pure".

Charlize Theron an African?

Now you're really going down the deep end of this argument.

You falsely accused me of being a racist without any evidence, and came back by claiming you weren't racist because you personally find a few African-American women attractive. Problem is those particular women are RACIALLY mixed.....nothing to do with racially non-mixed [pure] African ancestry. The particular women you cite have racial characteristics as much like Europeans as Africans, and that's where you're claim falls apart. This is a common claim made by millions of white guys who claim they are not prejudiced against people of African ancestry when I think they clearly are. They are just hypocrites because of social pressure.

Charlize Theron doesn't have one drop of African ancestry. Her family is Dutch, were among the first Dutch to arrive and settle in southern Africa. She's as European in her ancestry as I am. "Pure" European if you like.

I think you missed JDB's (admittedly subtle) point entirely. He was playing with you.

Subtlety was never your strong point, sledgehammer.

It is idiotic to refer to people as afro-american anymore than you would refer to someone as german-american or canadian-american. I remember listening to Jay Leno's wife Mavis helping at an Olympic tryout. She was awestruck over a young black figure skater. She referred to the young lady as a afro-american. One of her co-hosts said that this was her first time in the United States and she was from France. Mavis thought for a moment and referred to her as a Franco-Afro-American. Cherlize Theron was born in Africa so she is African whether you like it or not.

I also seem to recall that Roger Moore tried to make love to black girl in "Live and Let Die". There was also that gold girl in "Goldfinger". Asian girls, white girls, greek girls, russian girls, black girls, has 007 ever done an arab or hispanic girl? Maybe we can find him a T male.

How on God's green Earth did his thread get off track??? Well, lets see if I can get it headed in the right direction....

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a bit of a let down. After hearing all the reviews saying this was the best Bond ever, and that Bardem was the greatest Bond villain ever, it just fell staggeringly short of my expectations. I loved Casino Royale, and thought Quantum was a decent, if inferior, followup. But this flick never had the feel of a Bond film, where the nefarious plans of the genius bad guy creates this nonstop propulsion of the story. Skyfall lagged again and again. Bardem's character was weird but unmemorable. And the third act at Skyfall ranch was just ridiculous. Really, wouldn't the two old folks know better than to turn on a flashlight when there's a death squad a few hundred feet away? Stuff like that annoyed me. Craig was solid as ever, but they didn't give him much to work with here.

For the good; the action scenes were decent and the photography was largely stunning. That cannot cover for the fact Bardem was intro'd far too late and then used too fleetingly once with us. The lulls in pace were ruthlessly exposed by the fact very little narrative drive linked together the Skyfall angle with Bond suffering a I'm-too-old-for-this-moment a la Batman.

I thought Judi Dench was predictably brilliant. Not sure at all about the Moneypenny choice. Not Bond fit and a pretty average actress to boot.
END OF SPOILERS!!!!

Try the veal (curtains)!

Moneypenny was never a brilliantly beautiful woman. She was attractive, intelligent, and had a major crush on James. This was a smaller movie and more personal. Gone are the blimps, shuttlecrafts, and underwater cities. In some ways this movie was more realistic with a few missteps like using the flashlight. It connected Bond's past with his present. The villain was odd but then he was a man obsessed with his betrayal. He had expended a lot of time, money, and resources for his revenge. He was an earlier version of James Bond, one that had gone bad. I did like it when Lord Voldemort, I mean when Ralph Fiennes turned out to be more than a paper pusher.

I forgot to ask, what was your "pure" African girlfriend; Zulu, Ashanti, Watusi, etc. How pure was she?
