It's funny because I just had this talk with a client. He wanted me to open up more emotionally and mentally, basically talk more about my personal life and I had to let him know that we are not friends and never will be and I'll be damned if I share my real world problems or hooker problems with a client of mine. But I am flattered that I was able to create the illusion that we were closer than that...even if I had to shut it down quick. But yeah, THN..you hit it. Perfectly.

It's a fine line, to be sure. Sometimes what a client is really seeking isn't something that can be bought. Friendship. Real companionship.

I have spent some time with a couple of providers talking about RW stuff outside of a bedroom setting. Only two, actually. But I always make sure I pay their rate even for non "fun" time. It helps establish a precedent that ensures we both know what the "real" foundation of our relationship is based on.

If a provider contacts me and invites me out to lunch or dinner, that signals a different sort of relationship.

It's tricky to balance all of this semi-consequence free sex and the real human desire for genuine interactions. Honestly, clients should be just as guarded with their feelings as providers. Don't be so open and you will be less likely to be hurt by their actions.

Thanks phildo. When I made the post I anticipated getting attacked by some white knights, but the thread got kind of weird.

To clarify, it never occurred to me that Tori thought of me as a friend or as anything other than a client. I also never thought that she owed me anything other than the time and services my money bought, and the courtesy that everyone should expect from others, and particularly from businesses.

I have always viewed what goes on here as a purely business arrangement. And just like with any other business, if you are a provider and treat your customers poorly you should expect to receive bad reviews. Eccie is really no different than websites like TripAdvisor, Yelp and Angie's List. Ideally, the negative reviews and comments posted on those sites will cause the business to improve their service or attitude or whatever they are doing wrong. And ideally that is what should happen when it happens on Eccie.

I have no ill will towards Tori. She decided she doesn't want my business anymore, which is her absolute right. The free market system is a wonderful thing. After the second no show I moved on from her with a great provider who filed in on very short notice. My hope is that Tori corrects whatever problem she is having, treats her clients and potential clients with respect, and continues to thrive as an escort. The world would be a much happier place if everyone could experience sex with someone like Tori.

I think the blame can be traced back to whoever invented the term GFE. We are no longer hookers and Johns engaged in prostitution. We are providers and hobbiest seeking the GFE in the escort business. (As my old friend Will once said, "a rose by any other name....")
