Speaking as a experienced trick that's picked up dozens on dozens of SW's you're wrong as usual, most have a place to live at, no-tells have showers with running water believe it or not, some have kids they support, walking the track is their choice

Trolled around Saturday night. Nothing along the major roads; saw some walking along a small side road. Not even along the road, back near the unlit buildings. Saw a few LE on HH. I've learned that the peak hours are Monday through Friday (to find quantity) when tricks are going or coming from work, besides that it's about timing and luck to find someone you like, then hope she's good.
