the nfl did a new 10 billion dollar streaming deal with the internet, they are always able to print their own money

The largest market teams like the cowboys send money to the small market teams like buffalo and green bay, its how socialism works. stop using brown people as your analogy on socialism, use the nfl from now on. use mlb too, their luxury tax is the same as socialism, these are how the USA would and does work Socialistically since blue state like NY and CA send money to Iowa, Idaho, Nebraska, Tennessee, Kentucky, and more each year to keep those farm boys employed
It's run like a corporation.
If the NFL was run like socialism, the players wouldn't be getting so rich. The players wouldnt work as hard to be at the top of their game because they would make the just a little more than the guy selling hotdogs at the stadium concession.
Equality of outcome, not opportunity That's socialism. It breeds mediocrity and being exceptional doesn't pay.
No one wants to watch mediocre game, so aUltimately the NFL would fail, just like socialism always does.

You need to research the nfl, each draft pick has a preset payment, each position has a pay range, you sir are wrong on each point you made

The league is run by billionaires, the players are just multimillionaires. Can say college football is slavery as their owners make millions/billions

The USA is Socialistic and we aren’t failing, you’re delusional to compare brown countries to the USA. Google how the USA is unsocialistic to get a smaller list than how it is already Socialistic.

How long to become a billionaire at this salary?
Not long.

Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs
Average annual salary: $45 million
Total guaranteed at signing: $63.082 million

That's some interesting socialism ya' got there.

Why on earth a person would only associate socialism as lacking wealth is ignorant at best.

The nfl has a redistribution of wealth policy, maximum team salary structure, a commissioner who limits the number of teams allowed to represent the NFL like a dictator.

Wasn''t this a Bill Maher or Jimmy Kimmel rant a few years back? I remember seeing this comparison before, but don't remember which show.
I'll concede that there are some elements of the NFL that are similar to socialism, but there are glaring differences.
The government does't own any of the teams in the NFL. They're privately owned and the league sets their own rules.
There's no mandated rule when scores get lop-sided to reallocate points to the losing team to make them more competitive.
Regarding salary, also not equally distributed. You can still get a much bigger slice of the pie than your teammates.Where's the equity in that?

In a socialist economy, would everyone have the exact same paycheck?

Originally Answered: In socialism, does everyone get paid the same?

No. There is no system, nor has ever been in which everyone gets paid equal amounts. That is a fantasy that is used to bring people into dictatorships that control all means of everything. When I was in Russia, there were a few rich and many poor. From what I have seen about China, it is the same. Cuba is another one like that. And so is Venezuela now.

I grew up in Venezuela. I was there from 1970 to 1977. It was a socialist democracy then. The government owned many corporations, Petroven, all the utility companies, SIDOR, CVG, which owned many mining operations. Public universities were free. There was a free medical system, as well as private ones. Foreigners, like my father flocked there because of the financial opportunities. Going to Venezuela meant becoming rich in a few years if you worked hard. The government would finance any viable business with a good business plan.

There was corruption. After all, it is Latin America. There also was abuse. And the communists kept causing strikes at the University. Out of 4 years, we were on strike for 2. So, I decided to come to the US, to finish my schooling at the Ohio State University. My father could afford to send 4 of us simultaneously to colleges abroad. I chose a public university because I wanted a large place where I could learn about the world. My brother went to Emerson College in Boston.

So, the idea that Venezuela is what it is because it became socialist is as false as the idea that the Republicans have family values.

I am giving you some history of socialism in one country for you to get clear how much socialism differs from socialism. What destroys countries is laziness, ignorance, greed, and corruption. All of those are becoming more embedded in the Republican party, as well as a love for Putin.

I disagree with you on this subject, but to each their own. Your disdain for conservatives and Republicans is obvious. My experiences have been mostly positive and I find them to be likeable people. Politicians are excluded. Most are disingenuous regardless of party.
I know many Republicans who have strong family values, it's not a myth. Same with Christians. Most Christians I've met have very strong family values and are caring people. It's unfortunate that your experience has been different. For what it's worth, I'm agnostic. The idea of God is about as believable to me as ghosts, Bigfoot and aliens. I'm open to the possibility of their existence, but won't believe unless I see it.
I also have a few fiends who are liberals. One of my best friends is a liberal Democrat. He's lives in LA now, but still comes home for holidays. We disagree on lot, but our discussions are civil and there's mutual respect. Discussions here are rarely productive or serious. There's no mutual respect. So venting and getting a few good digs is about as good as it gets. That's okay too. It's fun and a good escape to be uninhibited in an anonymous virtual world.

Sports will return and those with a vaccination card will be allowed to attend games again, life will slowly go back to normal and before you know it, this covid thing will be a distant memory, like when the zombie apocalypse comes....

Which one is it, bf?

The NFL, which is basically a gay rights organization like antifa, only black lives matter, and the democrat party, incorporates socialist principles within a capitalist system.

The most glaring example is revenue sharing.

The second most glaring example is the salary cap.

There are others.

These things are relatively normal and are a by-product of managing an organization of this size that engages in the business of competitive sports.

The primary issue most level-headed individuals (who embrace the concept of a representative democracy) currently have with 21st century zillion dollar corporations is their new-found stunt of injecting their left wind ideology directly into the political mainstream.

The concept is sound when you consider the extent to which these manipulators care only about themselves and their elite, designated class of scumbag co-conspirators.

Conservatives are largely content and prefer not to disrupt the social and economic norms which have defined the rule book since the United States became a worldwide industrial superpower.

For this reason, large corporations, as well as state and local governments, feel perfectly safe ignoring their needs and jeopardizing their safety, despite the posturing and bleating by mainstream democrat party moron media.

As such, these huge organizations feel free to pander to the left, which has shown a willingness to set fire to American cities, establish media and educational complex which have declared war on civilized society, whose elected officials are both happy to inflame division based on immutable physical characteristics and are also ignorantly dismissive of the United States Constitution.

Leftist politicians have ceded the power in the United States to large financial and media organizations, taking their marching orders from them through the back door and doing their legislative bidding through the front door, which I believe is the premise of this thread, ie the NFL has greater de facto influence over behavior in this country than the federal government does.

This is part is what makes left-wing activist organizations as self-destructive as they are.

They act as an army at the front line of a battle which will ultimately result in the people they are claiming to despise the most accumulating more financial and political influence.

What the social impact means to the oligarchs who cheer them on is currently unclear.

What is clear is that bullshit like civil rights and equality are tertiary priorities, at best, to these little monsters.

So enjoy your gay/lesbian rights organizations, as well as your black supremacy farce groups.

I can't stand them & hope every member demonstrating cult like allegiance to them experiences spontaneously human combustion asap, but am at least able to take some comfort in seeing them for what they are.

There will be a large-scale nuclear war before Mickey Mouse takes over, btw.

Unless you consider Dementia Joe to be Mickey Mouse, which he pretty much is other than the lack of personality, the overt senility, and the reality that he hasn't taken over shit - he's a sock puppet.

Thank you.

Two simple words would fix all the political turmoil that is tearing this country apart:

TERM LIMITS!!!

Sure woody.

That would be great and probably encourage healing.

The moronic democrats are too preoccupied with dismantling the filibuster to concern themselves with bullshit like term limits however.

Not to mention the devastating impact this would have on their influence peddling.

Fuck that!

Very unlikely you'll ever see term limit legislation. I don't think many politicians of either party would ever consider any legislation that would effectually "fire them" every six years.

If moscow mitch would have kept his word the democrats would probably keep the filibuster. "Don't mess around with the filibuster and we'll work with our "friends" across the aisle." How's the party line vote working out so far? It's time lies have consequences.

moscow mitch doesn't care about anything except power. At least he was man enough to admit he was "going to do whatever it takes to make sure Obama is a one term President". Now he wants Biden to fail in one term so the republicans look better in 22 and 24.

Maybe we'll see Matt Gaetz and Fucker Carlson run on a new ticket in 2024. The newly created "Imprisoned Sex Traffickers Party".
