The clip from the movie "Idiocracy":

Part two of the clip:

It explains a lot.

Eventually it got so bad we wound with millions of Obama phone people. I thought the idea of trying to make the crops grow by using an energy drink instead of water was a pretty good metaphor for liberals trying to revive the economy by growing the government instead of the private sector.

This is ridiculous. You make it sound like evolution happened at random. Survival of the fittest, adapt or die. Take the supernatural garbage out of the argument. It's not accidental at all, it's the complete opposite.

Actually, wrong JD. Evolution can in fact be a two way street. To be more precise, evolution is non-linear. Evolution is simply a biological adaptation in response to changing conditions. There is no backwards or forwards, only change in response to changes.

Furthermore, EXnyer's original post is accurate. There is a growing body of evidence that demonstrates that even as our society continues to make technological advances, as a whole we are quite literally getting dumber. I will leave the how and why to other heads to explain.

Sorry, it my be semantics but if you go forward then it is considered evolution and if you consider it regressive then it is de-evolution. I guess it is a matter of prospective. If the human gets larger, stronger, but more stupid then I guess sports people (and democrats) will think that is a step forward. The remaining "smart" ones from Greece, Hungary, China, and Kenya like strong, dumb drones.

Going "forward" or "backward" is all relative though - it's completely dependant upon the situation and environment the organism is in.

One can also say that evolution is the ultimate free market. Those who have the best adaptation to their environment survive and possibly even thrive.
