Lightbulb I don't normally drink beer, but when I do...

I don't normally drink beer, but I have fallen in love with the following from Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco, Texas.

Devil's Backbone

Named for the scenic ridge that runs between Blanco and Wimberley, Devil's Backbone is a Belgian-style tripel. Czech Saaz hops and Belgian yeast give this ale its distinctive flavor and aroma. Candy sugar made in-house at the brewery adds strength without increasing heaviness. The result is a deceptively strong, pale golden ale.
ABV: 8.10% IBU: 36.00 OG (plato): 18.00

Hey, hey, hey!! Long time no see or hear!!!

To get back on topic....I'm FAR too lazy to brew my own beer but I do appreciate those a little off the beaten path. This summer, I was fascinated with anything & everything from Stone Brewing in Escondido, CA.

I think I have two new crushes.... Great Lakes (OH) & Port City (VA)

Good to see your avatar as well. {back to topic}

I was at a favorite Heights watering hole last night and they had no cider... of any kind!! I love to mix Ace Pear and Shiner or Ace Pear and Guiness but no such luck. I heard that a craft brewing company has a pumpkin cider but I can't remember the name of the brewing company. I heard every year they produce it and it is only a small run.

Anyone know the name of the brewing company or the cider of which I speak?

I'm a huge fan of Real Ale... I drink as much Devil's Backbone as I can get.... their Fireman's 4 is also really good. I just tried their Octoberfest last night. Not bad!

All Real Ale's products are solid, especially Devil's Backbone. That and Endavour the double IPA by St. Arnold's are my fav's.

Also, yes the Saucer and Hay Merchant are the best places in the city to get craft brews. But if you are in the westchase area like I often am you can check out Watson's and/or King's Head. Both have great selections.

Thanks for the info... not sure if I said this before but the Petrol Station is supposed to have a good selection as well.... although I havent been able to try it out.

And I realize this isnt a all year thing, but I'm hearing more and more craft brews being at the Ren Faire.
