You're a fool. And this proves it.
That big blowhard Ann Richards was Governor when the lottery was instated. Big hair Ann bragged about what an ethical administration she would have, and for her first appointment she appointed Lena Guerrora as proof of what a great bunch of people she would associate with. Here is how that ethical start began:

From Wikipedia:

She appointed then State Representative Lena Guerrero of Austin to a vacancy on the Texas Railroad Commission. The Hispanic Guerrero (1957–2008) was the first non-Anglo to serve on the commission in history. However, problems over falsification of her resume led to her resignation from the commission and defeat by the Republican Barry Williamson in the 1992 general election.

We don't need to buy midwest water, Lake Mead and the Colorado have plenty of it.
But as much travel I do in Texas, it sure would be fun to hit a few casinos while visiting.

I'm more concerned with who is blocking legalized prostitution - I don't go to casinos very often.

How so, casino gambling benefits casino owners and almost no one else. So opposing it makes some sense, doesn't it?

The Baptists do not hold that much power - there are lots of reasons to oppose casinos, among them they promise the moon and deliver leftovers from the grille. After the dog refused to eat it.
They don't pay shit to their employees, either - they make WTF look generous.

ok, The Texas Bible Belt with Baptist making up the majority, stops casinos in this state ... better?

mentioning my personal experience with gambling in this state isn't an option, but believe me I have more than you can imagine, and the rightwing do-gooders are by far the leading cause of people having to go to Oklahoma to play the slots

just sayin'
