no it is costly and business cards have to match a texas state id, and employer id cards are pretty easy to spot a fake. You also go one step further to verify by calling etc. You just say You are verifying employment for a reference. Also check the address and phone number is correct to what he has on his business cards. Out of town clients look for out of town plates, if flying boarding passes. There are all kinds of ways.

There are many different ways to screen... there is a well known lady down the street from me who has been around for a long time...who's screening consists of saying ..."Come on over Papi!" ...

When a provider asks me for references... I just say... "I'm DearHunter, damnit!" and that usually seals the deal... if not I sprinkle the conversation with a a few "Hooktards" ... they gush and say come on over...

I thinck this is a good thread, this concerns the hobbiest a lot more than providers think. why don't you start giving a few names, that way we know whom to avoid seeing, since they are not willing to vouch or help as a reference. it happened to me sometime ago a provider was telling other providers not to see me, as soon as I found out, who she was I deleted her ok from my p411, and I never contacted her again. problem solve. how hard can it be for a provider to respond to a call or email, and say, yes I met him, or no I don't know who he is. talk about being lazy, or selfish.

My references are ladies I plan on seeing again. I would not return to see her if she won't vouch. This is such a widely used screening tool, that I would not see a provider if that wasn't on the menu.

Any lady that screens like that should help back. The others I am on the fence. More risk more reward.

I think we all know there are "other ways" for a provider to screen. Not many of us want to give out our places of employment or show our ID's. I know I would never do that. When a provider starts showing me here....I will show her mine.
Why is it so hard for a provider to respond to a vouch request? So far I have not seen one legitimate reason not to. All we hear about all the time here on this board is provider saftey. We all want that. Vouching makes it about as safe as safe can be.

Why doesn't she come up with an alternative method of screening instead of others to do the work for her? I haven't heard that from Alyssa either.

I think this is a VERY bad thread to have in public view. Very bad.

We are talking about tricks of our trade that should be being discussed in the private ladies areas.

Who is to say that LE is not reading this thread and picking up new ways to “pass” or “manipulate” our screening?

8 Houston providers not getting back with you over the short period of a week seems a bit steep. In the whole 3 years I’ve been on the board I have never had 8 Houston providers not respond and that’s in 3 years. Let along 1 week. I think Houston providers are some of the easiest to communicate with.

I also think you should mention the provider (in the ladies area) so we can:

1. Steer clear of asking them for references and wasting our time w/ them

2. To see if there is a pattern of them not returning reference requests

There is nothing like a good cat fight on a rainy day.........especially if they both have on skimpy shorts and tiny little tank tops..........here comes the rain, again
