^^^ Coming from an old man obsessed with Fucker Carlson, political cartoons and some damn comedian nobody has ever heard of. Perhaps you should reeducate yourself 1st before you worry about doing the same to others on a whore board. You're funny. Good joke.

Anyway, I'm curious to know what American workers want in wages there if Tyson is willing to go that high for undocumented workers. A company that size knows the risk from the political backlash in today's heightened climate. Obviously, they think it is worth it to increase their bottom line.

Are Americans becoming too greedy for unskilled labor jobs? That is a bigger issue to address for a company like Tyson and many others IMO. This is not the time to hire undocumented laborers. They are clearly doing it for a reason that makes financial sense to them and their shareholders. A decision of this magnitude is not just signed off on by the CEO. Their Board of Directors approved this as well in order to drastically cut costs.

Yawn. What do my degrees have to do with any of this? All I need is no more than a 6th grade education to communicate with many in this forum and I am probably being way too generous about that because a 3rd grade education would probably make me overqualified IMO.

Anyway, immigration is like climate change to me. Folks bitch about it but nobody fixes it. I honestly don't even give a shit about immigration just like I don't give a shit about climate change. Nowadays, people should be much more concerned about AI taking their jobs than an undocumented worker. And especially so if you are an unskilled laborer working at a meat plant.

New immigrants have always been the ones that have done the nasty jobs in meat packing plants. You can see that in the history of South Omaha around the area of where the stockyards used to be which also included quite a few meat packing plants. You can also see it around other meat packing plants in other towns across the midwest. At the end of the Vietnam War quite a few Vietnamese joined the work force at meat packing plants.

And the Vietnamese also came over, bought some old junked out shrimp boats, worked hard, and now control the shrimping industry on the Gulf Coast.

Are these jobs Americans do not want?

Nope. Like I said. Most Americans don't care about these types of jobs.
Bottom line. In a month? Six months or a year? This will be forgotten.
If folks are so triggered write a letter to tyson.

why write a letter? just boycott their products and people are beginning to do that.

so those Americans who do work for Tyson won't mind at all about getting fired? fired to bring in cheaper illegal labor?

how would you like that if you lost your job to a "refugee"?

a lot of Tyson's plants are in rural areas that don't exactly have plentiful job markets.

so what happens to these Americans? they may end up losing their homes over this.

which would be fine per Tyson since they have to house these illegals .. you watch, they'll buy up their former American worker's homes at foreclose auctions and give them to illegals.

was the article wrong? if it was hurting american workers in 2016 why isn't it hurting american workers today? it is and has been for decades. even MLK knew that.

i find the apathy about this issue both amusing and appalling.

are you ok with FIRING Americans to give their jobs to illegals?

better still, disprove Tyson is doing this. they have a long history of breaking labor laws..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyson_...ted_immigrants

Employment of undocumented immigrants

Tyson Foods was indicted on December 9, 2001, along with six employees, on charges that it conspired to smuggle undocumented immigrants across the Mexican border to work in its processing plants. The 36-count indictment, which was unsealed at Federal District Court in Chattanooga, Tennessee, accused Tyson of arranging to transport undocumented workers across the border and helping them to get counterfeit work papers for jobs at 15 Tyson plants. Prosecutors alleged that the conspiracy to import workers dated back to 1994. Of the six managers who were indicted, two accepted plea bargain deals, and one committed suicide a few months after being charged. In March 2003, a federal jury acquitted Tyson and its managers of having hired illegal immigrants as part of a conspiracy.[109][110][111][112]

In October 2006, a federal judge granted class-action status to a lawsuit brought by Tyson employees who allege that Tyson's practice of hiring illegal immigrants depresses wages 10–30%. The suit further contends that the company violated federal racketeering laws by conspiring with National Council of La Raza and League of United Latin American Countries not to question the employment applications of anyone with a Hispanic surname.[113][114][115]

You only teach how to try to push bullshit.

As usual, you ignore your own link or don't even read it.

The link points out the whole story you try to ignore. Most people understand there are pros and cons to most things. Using discussion, negotiation, and compromising can fix most issues.
When a bipartisan immigration bill was offered up by a repub senator, trump proved he doesn't give a shit about America. No need to rehash trump's actions. He put politics ahead of America.
And you fail again to tell the whole story.

From your link (the complete headline).

Yes, Immigration Hurts American Workers
The candidates tell drastically different stories about immigration. They’re both skipping half the truth.

"I’ve been studying immigration for 30 years, but 2016 was the first time my research was cited in a convention speech. When he accepted his party’s nomination in July, Donald Trump used one of my economic papers to back up his plan to crack down on immigrants and build a physical wall: “Decades of record immigration have produced lower wages and higher unemployment for our citizens, especially for African-American and Latino workers,” he told the cheering crowd. But he was telling only half the story.

Hillary Clinton, for her part, seemed to be telling only the other half. At her convention a week later, Clinton claimed that immigrants, both legal and illegal, improve the economy for everyone. She told the crowd: “I believe that when we have millions of hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy, it would be self-defeating and inhumane to try to kick them out. Comprehensive immigration reform will grow our economy.”

Here’s the problem with the current immigration debate: Neither side is revealing the whole picture. Trump might cite my work, but he overlooks my findings that the influx of immigrants can potentially be a net good for the nation, increasing the total wealth of the population. Clinton ignores the hard truth that not everyone benefits when immigrants arrive. For many Americans, the influx of immigrants hurts their prospects significantly."
