79 Pirates were the Family. Sadly, Clemente died in 71. I grew up at Forbes Field watching him play. Nobody played with his skill and panache. Truly a special athlete and person.

MLB should retire his # like Jackie Robinson. Clemente was one of the Best players in history, but a great humanitarian also. I’ve been lucky to watch in person some of the greatest athletes compete. Nobody better than Clemente. He lived a modest life. A small ranch house in the township I grew up in. Unheard of today.
