Thanks for posting that Canadian meme, I actually spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on Google, seems, they aren't linking to it for some reason.
It's perfect for the entire situation.

Some of you guys can't get past politics and the minority woke assholes.
Kinda sad but to each his own.
I will say I'm glad to hear that some anti GOP companies are getting hurt in the pocket just like what happens with anti-liberal businesses(per Devos post). I've always wondered why Republican voters don't do the same thing as liberals.
But politics will never turn me away from the Olympic sports not involving Blue hair and weird lip. I enjoy sports and life is too short.

First, I, like a lot of people, find 99% of Olympic Sports boring and worthless to watch.
Second, why should anyone support woke fucking assholes like the purple haired bitch by watching them perform? Let them starve
I feel sorry for all those independent Subway Franchise Owners who are embarrassed and losing business because the moron Subway corporate decided to feature this woke bitch in their ads - driving away business. But they made their bed, now they have to lie in it

C3 doesn’t realize politics enters all facets of life, including sports. Especially the Olympics.

I realize and am not at all surprised it does with you.

Most of us praised some of the athletes while chastising the woke self promoters. Which poster has done something different? Of all sporting events, the Olympics have been politicized for 90yrs. It’s what it is.

Again, I think you're putting way too much stock into ratings. It's 2021, the NFL isn't relying on TV ratings to make money because TV just isn't as important as it use to be. And even if it was so financially devastating, the league would do something about it because the executives in the NFL don't care about being woke, they care about money. You really think the billionaire owners of the NFL would really just sit around as money gets drained out of their pockets? They wouldn't and they aren't cause they're still making bank each year.

Where are they making their money? Attendance is down too. Advertising is also down.

Not sure what you are talking about but TV revenue is the LARGEST revenue source the NFL has by a large margin

"Worst Case Scenario": "Woke" Olympic Ratings Plunge Nearly 50%, Forcing NBC To Hand Out Free Ad Space
It looks like yet another instance of "get woke, go broke" for NBC and the Tokyo Olympics.
Ratings for the Olympics have been so poor this year that NBC is being forced to hand out "extra commercials" for those who bought advertising during the games, according to Fox News.
Experts have pointed to backlash over protesting the U.S. flag and "woke" athletes as the key reason why ratings are down.
The ratings dropoff is stunning. Per Fox News:
NBC’s primetime coverage of the Tokyo Olympics on July 26 averaged 14.7 million viewers -- for a 49% drop compared to the equivalent night from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games and 53% less than the 2012 London Olympics. The opening ceremonies saw their lowest viewership since 1988.

Don't think I articulated my point well. Yes, TV makes up a large percentage (like 50% or something) of the NFL's revenue. But the argument that low ratings are hurting the NFL must also show that the NFL are actually losing money from these low ratings. To my knowledge, the NFL's revenue is still increasing if you treat 2020 as an exception.

2020 may be an exception. Time will tell;
https://sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/nfl...215107282.html
But all major sports ratings are down. The NBA really got hit.
Olympics ratings are abysmal;

https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-ins...oll_US_072821/
Here is where is interpretation comes into play. Wayne from the article before just said his opinion with no evidence. Mr. Not Tyler Durden from zero hedge cited an article which pointed to this poll that politics were the primary reason. Now when I look at the data, yes it says that a third blames politics (and the examples given show that at least some of those are Republicans turned off by what you would call woke athletes). What else it shows is that nearly another third blames the pandemic and the rest have a variety of other reasons. Now if you're writing your article for a conservative base, you'll point to the ones who say politics to prove your point. But that doesn't change the fact that the other two thirds of the people who lost interest had other reasons.

You are correct in that the ratings being down one year is not hurting the NFL currently because they have long term TV contracts. But if ratings keep falling, you can bet the advertisers will not pay the rate the TV networks want for commercials and in turn the TV networks will go back to the NFL for financial accommodations

They’ve already done that. The NFL wants revenues to grow to 25 billion in a few years. They dipped to 12 last year. They were 16 billion in 2019. They were growing at less than 1 billion yearly before that. Were they hitting their projections? Can’t find that info. But they do plan to expand franchises outside the US. Probably Mexico City or London first. Maybe they’ll make it an Olympic sport!!!!!!
