Every generation, the consensus among intelligent folk is that the world is going to the dogs, that the youth are corrupt, that civility and respect are dying. But somehow we continue to get a new crop of scientists, engineers and academics that rise from the muck. We continue to make spectacular technological advances. Someone worthy of electing to presidential office comes along. Society, through some miracle, holds itself together without dissolving into chaos, and kind acts are committed by people all over at every instant.
I just don't buy the "ECCIE degrading as reflection of society degrading" argument. It doesn't hold up.
ECCIE is a group of people, each with different personalities. It's as simple as that. New people come in every day and veterans take their leave. Use common sense in the way you interact and stay away from drama. Some bad apples will always exist. Sometimes there will be more, sometimes less. Come on, we're talking about a group of human beings here.

Yeah, things change but I still feel it is for the better. Would you rather have whispers of who does BBFS or have it out front for decision making purposes? Whether you choose to partake and exercise your right to prove Darwin right or you choose to avoid, you now have more power.
The stone casters on this thread are also comical. Commenting on others fetish is at its core hateful. Who are we to judge another's fetish?
Some self reflection is in order for those who comment that things are worse off.

Very good thoughts Bolt, of which some are my point. There does not seem to be as much being "called on" as there was. As far as BBFS, yes I would rather know so that I know who is putting me at a higher risk. But the point is how frequently this service is now offered. It seems acceptable to not care about HIV or other diseases. Safety is thrown out the window for a few dollars more. Just makes no sense to me is all. For me, and I can only speak for myself, an extra 60 bucks is just not worth dying for. I prefer to be around and healthy for a much longer period. Many of those offering this service were not around in the days when HIV reared its ugly head and did not see the devastation it originally caused. All they see is Magic Johnson living a normal life. They cannot see beyond the blinders. I guess it will not be until the next STD catastrophe to happen, say stick your dick in and you both blow up, before society as a whole gets scared again.
I guess what it boils down to is that it appears, for the most part, that it is no longer about the experience it once was. It is all about the money-making it/saving it and one will do whatever or request whatever for the sake of the almighty dollar.
I would agree, things really do come full circle, yes?
Now I know why my parents look at me and say I don't get your generation. I am now saying that to my children lol

Here's what I think: I think the number of people to whom the site has become an end has grown. Most of us use the site as a means to an end, ie a way to set up playtime. It seems like now there are more here where their playtime is being on the site. I don't think they hobby much. Its not hard to find people who average 7-10 posts per day over a several year period. And who knows how the double handles work into that equation. I just think there are more now who gets their kicks online here instead of just using it to make an arrangement to play in real life.
PS I do not think the hobby you knew is gone, we just have to wade thru some real bullshit to get there.

Well put Slowmover!
To the OP, many of us from the "old" days ( a whopping 3-6 years ago lol) are either UTR, leaving to fulfill a different path, or simply don't hobby online. I will say, the old fashioned gift of gab sales is PROSPEROUS now that everyone has fled online and super dependent on it.
Many of my play pals I've met at the Grocery store, Mcdonald's , anywhere ...

Actually, I think if I could design my ideal way to go out of this world, it would be to stick a my dick in a female and blow up.
Where do I sign up for that?

It seems to me like Eccie is sticking with that mission. Maybe it's us that have changed.

Everybody deserves a second chance.
But to let the personal attacks go on like they do with seemingly little repercussion enough to change it is disappointing to me. Like the guy who frequents Harley boards, it is a universal problem. It is not unique to Eccie. To have a friendly place requires a moderators pimp hand. The best boards do it that way.
Have we changed? I don't think so. Only in the fact that members rarely confront the problems themselves. That happened more "back in the day".
Eccie has almost almost a quarter of a million registrations. The game as we knew it was a gentleman's hobby. The increase in the number of people looking for sex online has increased. The pool has been diluted. That's why I call it Eccie-Mart.

Not a unique observation, though. A lot of us were complaining about this back in the aspd day, over 5 years ago. I use to call it "the democratization of the internet".
Although I guess "Eccie-mart" has more zing to it.

Don't wax poetic. We are all scumbags. I personally have been fucked over many times by the old guard. Yeah we are great until someone has something we want.
The second you believe that anyone in this world wouldn't fuck you over, you are already greasing up your butthole

I was actually thinking the same exact thing. Literally, insofar as the "democratization" part goes. But, c'mon man, how could you throw that word out there and make it sound like a bad thing??
I was in the middle of "waxing poetic" when I am the TCGF posted. In basic agreement, I just decided to delete everything. There's really not much else to say LOL

I believe in second chances if the member has learned the lesson and changes the behavior ...
The problem is that a penalized member is just sitting his Banned time just to come back to do the old tricks over and over again ...
Should we say welcome back then? NO!!! ...

Well put OP, blacksheep and TCGF and TM,
I notice now how dudes are the biggest drama queens, dudes / pimps are bitching and positioning for their favorite girl, WKing, and generally acting like the imbeciles they want to be because of the anonymity afforded by the internets.
I know we had it back in the day, but it is more prevalent now and unfortunately has taken over the board.
I try to stay out of the poo being slung and my personal opinion is forgiveness is one thing, but to not have a strike limit is ruining a good source of information. This is less of a "community of like minded individuals" and more like the Superdome after Katrina.
P.S. Welcome back Meg, will you ever visit Dallas??
