for example, a good friend of mine just refigured his entire budget and it came out to about $5K / month [does not include any investing $s] or $60K / year.
and dont forget that is after tax (that is "take home pay"), so the pre-tax amount would have to be more.

I think, as someone already said, regardless of your profession, just about everyone should have a magic number that would get you out of whatever rat race you're in. If you want to get out of working altogether that is, otherwise you're just chasing money your whole life.

After debts are paid off it's a matter of what you could stand to live on knowing you'd never had to work again - that's the bare minimum. I would take a pretty small amount of money to live on if it meant I never had to work again.

I figured once that a million dollars would do it, but I think I could do it for less, like 500k. With 500k gaining modestly 3% interest after inflation, minus my monthly withdrawals, yeah, I'd be alright if I didn't go nuts with expenses.

Pmdelites... the formula you gave is pretty much what I used. Took all my bills (excluding hobby related bills), multiplied it by number of months, then added tuition, books, and a 10k buffer.

Then imagine someone who fits well within the date-able range of age, looks, character, socioeconomic status, etc, comes along and offers 10% of that - $10,000 - for an hour or so of great, mutually pleasurable and reciprocal sex.

Is there anyone (in their right mind) who would turn that down?

I can sincerely say that I would not, in any reasonable circumstances, turn down $10k for an hour or so of great sex. Even, hypothetically, if my net worth was a thousand times the $100k in the scenario (just to take relativity off the table), I would still happily and eagerly accept the proposal and take the opportunity. Is there any that would sincerely and credibly claim they would not?

Depends on the person. During my last major break from the hobby, I turned down a very nice offer because, at the time, I felt I was "done".

Don't get me wrong. I love sex, and I enjoy the hobby. But in my opinion, this isn't meant to be a lifetime career. It is meant as a means to an end-- and I've personally put a cap at the age of 40. I will be done with school a year before I hit 40-- and I will be done with the hobby at the same time.

Some ladies can do this indefinitely and that is their choice. I want out before it has a chance to make me jaded or bitter. I'm blessed with intelligence, I should probably make a point to use it.

I guess I just think that my number would be high enough that I would be living comfortably.. So comfortably so, that an amount of money wouldn't really make me flinch.
