CNN interviews Iranian Hassan Rouhani:

And in accordance with the parliament law, in the future, we’re going to need 20,000 mega watts of nuclear produced electricity and we’re determined to obtain the nuclear fuel for the nuclear installation at the hands of our Iranian scientists and we’re going to follow in this path.

CNN FAREED ZAKARIA: So there would be no destruction of centrifuges?

ROUHANI: Not under any circumstances. Not under any circumstances.

CNN CHRIS CUOMO: I mean, Fareed, what is the deal? That’s supposed to be the whole underpinning of moving forward from the United States perspective is that they scale back and dismantle all this stuff we’ve been hearing. How do you interpret what you just heard from the president?

CNN ZAKARIA: Well, I was as struck by it as you were, Chris. This strikes me as a train wreck. This strikes me as potentially a huge obstacle because the Iranian conception of what the deal is going to look like and the American conception now look like they are miles apart. The Iranian conception seems to be they produce as much nuclear energy as they want, but it is a civilian program and you can have as much monitoring and inspections as you want. The American position is that they have to very substantially scale back the enrichment of uranium and the production of centrifuges.

Now for the first time you have the president of Iran unequivocally saying there will be no destruction of centrifuges. He also made clear in the interview with me that the two heavy water reactors would continue in operation. So this seems like — you know, this is stillborn — I’m not even quite sure what they’re going to talk about if these are the opening positions. And it’s very hard to walk back from as absolutist a position as the president of Iran laid out.

Whirlytard and the Admiral rely on Iranians for their arguments. Odd. I posted this earlier....does it surprise you that the Iranians are claiming they "won" the negotiations that led to the deal? Every country that negotiates any sort of deal, other than an unconditional surrender, claims victory in the deal. It's what all politicians do. Relying on statements like that as the crux of your argument is laughable. Especially when you're talking about the Iranians.

Not one of you dumb motherfuckers has responded to the arguments and points made in the article I posted. Instead, you post up links to quotes from Iranian political and religious leaders as support for your assertion that we "lost". Absurd. .. in a "negotiation" it is generally accepted to have a working knowledge of what the "other side" perceives to be the potential agreement between the parties ... in order to draft the final agreement for the parties' signatures. When the two sides have a differing understanding of the terms and scope of the proposed agreement when they sit down to review the draft they more than likely will not sign the agreement ...

... IF THEY INTEND TO ABIDE BY THE AGREEMENT AFTER IT IS SIGNED.

Yesterday a group of nuclear scientists and Iran experts testified before Congress. One of them noted that in order for Iran to supply its own fuel for 20,000 MW of nuclear generating capacity, it would need a million centrifuges. It currently has over 19,000.

All of the experts agreed Iran already has enough enriched uranium (near weapons grade) to produce 4 nuclear bombs and it would take no more than 4-8 months to assemble them.
