Idk at least 6+ years. I have been there 6 yrs and it was there when I moved in. But that part of the house leaked before I replaced the roof so that’s must be why it’s all rusted where the elements and thermostat is.

I think fixing it is a lost cause 😢

When it comes to electrical or plumbing issues in an older home, speaking as someone in the trades.......you should NOT solicit DYI advice off a chat board.

Call a professional plumbing company, and get that water tank inspected, to see what the problems really are.

Just my opinion.

Well Ik what the problem is- it’s a piece of shit and doesn’t work!!! Lmao 😂 (Trying to stay positive and laugh it off even though it’s so not funny)

And Ik it’s to far gone to just replace the thermostat or heating elements due to to it being all rusted..

I have a guy who can install one for me.. he is legit and knows what he’s doing.. and has done other work for me.

I was just thinking if someone had some credit and wanted to put it on their card In trade it would do us both a favor.

Yes I bought a new one and got it installed.
