Journeyman wages for a welder are nearly $50 per hour, CBJ7; with time and a half after 8 hours, time and a half after 40 hrs and double time -- nearly $100 per hour -- on Sundays and holidays. Where, CBJ7, does unemployment pay $100 per hour?

So you're too stupid to handle the math, CBJ7? And you can't figure out that $100 per hour for a twelve hour day is $1,200, CBJ7, and that the weekly take home for a journeyman welder is thousands of dollars more than what unemployment pays? You're a typical, Kool Aid sotted Odumbo voter, CBJ7.

I think everybody except CJ-7 mised my point.
Canada is not about to let billions of dollars worth of oil just sit under the ground. They are going to get it, and sell it.
They could sell it to us, where we would refine it, and use it, under the most stringent of environmental procedures.
How many other Countys will do that. Certainly not China.
I would think common sense would dictate our course of action on this.

CBJ7 couldn't show where someone can earn anywhere near $5,500 a week on unemployment, Ekim the Inbred Chimp. Can you? Until you do, Ekim the Inbred Chimp, you're the non-reading, non-comprehending sh!t throwing chimp.

When the work finishes later this year, this refinery will become the largest in the United States. It will have the capacity to process up to 325,000 barrels per day of heavy sour oil. The United States is not a significant producer of heavy sour oil. Countries that are expected to increase their production of this difficult-to-process crude include Canada (tar sands), Venezuela, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait among others. So the subsidy received by this refinery is directly to enable the processing of a particularly dirty form of oil that is not produced in America.
Hmm, what was it pipeline proponents, including the owners of these refineries, were saying about reducing dependence on oil from hostile and unstable countries?

I repeat...Tax payer subsidies and who are we really supporting?

I agree. Let the Canadians sell it to China, who gives a fuck if we don't make a profit off of it for our environmental risk.
