I tend to "plan ahead" and make appointments for both visiting and local providers weeks in advance. For instance, I'm currently booking my December appointments. So Providers that pop up on the local ad section on the 12th saying "I'm here from 13 through 14", I'm usually already booked and funds set aside so I won't see them. Another visiting provider let us know a week ago she'd be in town the second week of December, and I'm booked with her.
Give me advance notice, and I will pre-book. Give me last minute notice, and I'll ignore you. My experiences have been 50/50. Only once has there been a "No Show". I have had cancellations by the travelling providers for many reasons, up to and including "Not enough interest/bookings so I'm cancelling.. sorry guys that pre-booked" which I thought was pretty low grade and so I probably won't ever contact her again the next time she claims to be planning on coming to town.

I'd personally prefer a lady to cancel being nearly completely dependent on me than see a stressed, desperate and anxious provider aggravated about a BLANK trip. This makes for A) a negative session B) Lack of connection C) no interest/mediocre sessionIinstead of the spine tingling service you deserve

I've had to tell quite a few that just asking me to come or saying you'd like to see me in your town but without any actual commitment doesn't help me any especially (it's nice to know i'm wanted but other than that *shrugs*) and that it's not the same as pre-booking when thinking in terms of expenses. Him: "I'd love to see you come to/when you come to xxxx". Me": "Great i'm thinking *** to **** what works for you?" .... Him: *crickets*.
Yeah....nice.

Then they get mad when the Provider cancels the Tour due to a lack of interest.

Mocha, good point...
I did not think of it that way but that's why I'm following this thread -to learn
One provider that I met early in her providing career had similar
Marketing interests as me and eye struck up convo...
Long story short, she travels very regular now
I know her plans and schedule and I know if I want to see her in a particular city I have to pre book
if i don't , very likely she will be booked full or she will skip the city i wanted to meet her in for lack of bookings.
The guys that know this jump on pre booking,
Yea, none of us like to pre book then get it cancelled but I definitely prefer that than a lady not making the numbers she needs for a trip to work out
If I were not in DFW , I might feel differently but truthfully the hobbyist side has many backup options so I support the lady making a good economic decision, even if I miss out on that visit .

Standing Ovation for your post and understanding that a lady cancels for her economical interest. Noone likes being forced to sell ass to get up out a city.

Ok, the FACT as you just clearly stated, is the lady cancels on PRE-BOOKED appointments for "her economical interests", which is simply another way of saying the guys who did pre-book, that she cancels on are NOT important enough for her to be concerned about. And so I think I have the right to return the favor and not contact her the next time she "says" she'll be coming to town because we just saw... that ain't necessarily so.

Pre-booking
Every time I try to pre-book more than a day in advance, I get stood-up. Most seem to want spur of the moment contact, in fact sometimes I get the request to call back on the day I want to met.

No. Handling those gents that did pre-book is a separate TCB issue. When I cancel , thats 0-2 request. A whopping 2. That's nothing lavish or extravagant - I'd just like my expenses back before I travel. I guess its like a safety belt. With those 2-3 pre-books, it secures me and allows me to not be concerned if I could stay a 2nd night, or worse. I'm in it for the fun and excitement too.

Exactly. We don't cancel because you're not important, we cancel because we would be spending money to come and see you, or because we'd just barely break even. We could at least not spend that money, and stay home planning our next move instead of stressing about spending $800 to make $300.
That doesn't mean you guys aren't great and appreciated, but that does mean it's being nice to you vs. paying rent this month, and I'm pretty close to 100% sure that if you guys were in that situation, you would cancel too.
There are some cities where I will book up a month out, and because of it, I go there every. single. month. If I have to cancel, I reschedule even my day job stuff and give those people first priority. Why? Because I can rely on them, and they have been good to me, so I will always make an effort to be reliable and good to them. A city that doesn't get any requests til my last day, and then they come flooding in? No. Not worth risking my financial security on, and the majority of girls feel the same way. So, it might be easier to say "I'll just wait until she gets here to make sure she's coming", but don't complain when your city turns into a hobby wasteland, cause that's how it happens ;-)

I'm not sure why its so difficult to understand, Charlotte (great concrete points). We're not Adolf Hitler because we choose to pay rent instead of spending it to see one date. Cross country and as a providing lady, vulnerable.
It seems some are taking the decision personally, instead of economically. I hope this thread proves helpful to both hobbyists and providers. I learned to advertise via different means/target market, and up to several years [months] in advance.

So how many prebooks equals a safe trip.........what number is too few. What amount in a city as an example qualifies the risk of a first time city prebooks. I know this varies lady to lady...but I'm curious to see if their is a consensus. Maybe a certain $$$quota is reached and the trip is abruptly stopped?

I dunno if you can find a good enough general consensus since as you said it will vary based on the lady. Unless i'm touring from somewhere else I normally travel from D.C. (airport DCA or BWI) I dunno if they'd be the same as a lady traveling from a different of TX but *shrugs*. I can try to ballpark ... expenses have to be covered to start hmmmm .... roundtrip flight (300-400) plus ballpark 2-3 day visit (250-400 maybe more depending on quality of hotel and how it's booked or private incall), and other expenses like if a lady has kids or has pets, money they put in to buy things for the incall and clients like refreshments/toiletries/snacks/intimate products, ECCIE is free but money put into advertising elsewhere (P411 if they can get a top 10 or featured can be pricey, BP, eros etc), if they want to rent a car while in town etc.
@ Charlotte Breeze: big +2

Yes, at least in this area the art of prebooking is dead.
That's what keeps me from traveling at all anymore. No one wants to say for sure if they want to set a date.
It's always "Well, let me know when you're in town"
Really? Even when my ad specifically states that all appointments will be prebooked only?
I won't travel to lose money that's for sure.
