When I first decided to try and sell a couple things on CL a friend told me that 95% percent of the people that answer are wastes. I remember thinking he was exaggerating. Now I'd say he should've told me 99%. Those who reply are the flakiest, most unreliable, cheapest (I could go on and on) humans to walk the face of this planet, LMAO. The best are the ones who tell you to hold something for "X" amount of days and then completely fall off the map. The absolute worst of the f'n worst... On the other hand, those who post are usually pretty decent. Maybe it's different in other cities...

I've actually had the best luck buying from people in Rochester for some reason. Good smooth transactions at fair prices.

Selling? If you wanna just get rid of something fast, make it cheap. Even then you'll get some low ballers LOL no one is on Craig's to pay a fair price it seems.... I've found so many flippers in the Buffalo area it's nuts. Even if you say "no trades" you'll get idiots asking if you'll trade LOL some people are time suckers. Demand a million pictures, etc etc ask a million stupid questions, then no show or try to low ball ya. I swear they just try to wear ya down.

But yes, every now and then you run into good folks and it's all so easy. It's what makes ya put up with all the crap.

Must be the same experience guys get addicted to cruising for new BP and CL gals

That sums it up nicely. I've done many, many deals on guitars, both buying and selling. I've met some damn fine folks. But tons of shitheads too. I'll bet it is worse, though, with something like a car.
