You people will criticize anything if I say it. I could post that the sky is blue, and someone would call me a shit sucking faggot liar.

COG, you are not alone on this. Soldiers as a group tend to agree with you--they would much prefer that strength and clear resolve PREVENT wars. I've met hardly any career military man or woman who wants the opportunity to be killed--they see it as something that might be necessary, and won't shirk the responsibility if it comes to that--but certainly not the first course of action by any means. They know they stand the most to lose, and they usually have seen the most friends already lost.

I have posted more than once that it is up to Congress to spend to prevent wars. What was more expensive in 1940; funding a eight carrier fleet in the Pacific or fighting the Japanese. It would have been so much more effective to fund a fleet, aircraft, and supporting vessels than fighting the war. Our politicians chose to put the US in a position that the Japanese thought they could take us and they tried. Look at today, we have story after story about how our military is over stretched, tired, and the equipment is worn out. Heard any stories about any massive equipment buys or an increase in troop strength? If we have to go to war in the next three years then we will do it with old, used, out of date equipment.

COG, it may be blue where you are, but that doesn't mean it's blue where I am.
Personally, I wouldn't call you a "liar" .... even with the extra descriptive words ... but I would explain to you that your conclusion is incorrect and your are mistaken.
We have 360 or so days a year to piss on each other about our respective views on political issues, which your comment was by the way, and 100s of other threads.
Can't you give it a rest for 5 or so days out of the year without trying to make some political point or "one-ups-manship" on some hooker board? Just asking.
Thank you for having respect for some on the board who just want to think about those we have known, been close to at a painful and fleeting moment in their lives, and for those who we thought we would see tomorrow but did not; in stead of thinking about yourself and your personal political agenda.
Now. Don't eat any shit or suck any dick. But go fuck yourself, ok?

Have you considered for even a moment that posters criticize you for anything if you say it because you criticize others on this board for anything if they say it?
Despite the fact that you would like to believe differently, every thread and every post is not about you! I can assure you with 100% certainty that this thread was specifically about soldiers who gave their lives for this country. Not about you!
Such is life in the Sandbox!

Don't you honor the Benghazi 4 for their service to the country? Or do you consider them expendible too?

Whose fault is that? You even attack people like me who agree with 90% of what you say, and have repeatedly praised you for good posts. You are a natural curmudgeon who can't help but criticize in a most disagreeable manner. You think the whole world is out to get you. Take some time to reflect on your pathology.

They keep building and buying tanks the military does not want but the congress people where they are built won't let them stop.

i couldn't care less what you folks think of me. I just didn't turn this thread political. You did, when you incorrectly assumed I was trying to express a political point. I wasn't. I expressed a point of view that, quite frankly, I didn't think was controversial. How many of you actually want to see more military personnel killed on duty? Seriously?

I think the "point" is ...
... can't we honor them for just one day without political discourse.
.. it is not to say we don't honor them the rest of the year .. at least some of us.
