Please drop the talk of racism. Democrats spread so much hate it's ridiculous.

I have several black friends that are physicians and several that are not. 95% are Republicans which is the reason I proposed the question...

Seriously, I swear the liberal media like CNN wants racial tension but I honestly don't see that much...Maybe I have game and don't see much haters. Lol

Moreover, he did it nearly 30 years later. (The old man from NC, who it was later learned the he had an out of wedlock black daughter, that he at least financially supported her entire life.)

So no The racist platform of democrats did not merge with the Republican Party that ended slavery, gave women the right to vote, and ended segregation. Try again.

Furermore, if your statement were true, then Al Gore was a one time a Republican? I mean after all his dear old daddy was one of the leading filibusters.
Wrong. It was specifically the Democrat's embrace of the civil rights movement that caused the Dixiecrat rebellion in the first place and shifted the South's loyalty from being almost unanimously Democratic since the civil war to majority Republican today.

Stop and think about it. What do you suppose caused white Southerners to suddenly abandon their party of over 100 years right around the time of the civil rights movement? Was that merely coincidence? How would you explain it? Do you believe that white racists had a sudden and inexplicable change of heart?

The party of Lincoln is decidely NOT the same as the GOP of today. It's cute that you would like to pretend otherwise. Stop embracing cognitive dissonance.

Trump got around 15% of the black vote in the election, which was quite a bit actually compared to other Republicans in recent decades.

After Kanye W. came out and exposed the racist "plantation" mentality that the Democrats use on blacks, as well as how Trump has fixed Bush/Obama's dismal economic growth and turned around the economy by lifting free-market restrictions and improving trade deals and lowering taxes for them, Trump's support among blacks has risen to over 25%, the highest of any Republican since Lincoln.

The media is simply owned and controlled by the rich 1% Socialist elite billionaires like Bloomberg, Murdoch, Buffett, Bezos, Gates, Winfrey, Zuckerberg, etc. and their "establishment" career-politicians and government bureaucrats, and the media lies, lies, lies, lies, lies all the time about Trump, Americans, etc. even the weather! (Seen that video of the weatherman trying to act like the hurricane was the end of the world and he could barely stand up, then a couple guys in shorts casually strolling in the background talking and laughing. Or the reporter who was sitting in water acting like they were up to their chest in floodwater, and then someone walks by in the background and you see it is not even knee deep.) Most news, especially the major news networks like NBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, BBC, PBS, is Fake News now.

The best way to learn the truth of things, is to realize that the Democrat/RINO's say the exact opposite of what is true, 99.99% of the time.

GOP = tell straight white people that every problem they have is because of "those guys over there...its not your fault."

Democrats = tell all other groups that every problem they have is because of "those guys over there...its not your fault."

Both sides make interesting points at times but all are beholden to those with the biggest pocketbooks. Dems have built in advantages long term because the GOP hasn't figured out how to consistently attract anyone that isn't white and rural/suburban. Winning strategy in 1985 but won't be in 2035.

Third parties need to win local races and start small before trying to win national elections.

Your numbers are really wrong. Trump got about 8% of the black vote in 2016, which was more than Romney (6%) and double McCain (4%) but less than W Bush in 2000 (9%) or 2004 (11%).

I was going to respond with some other stuff, but when you wrote Trump's support in the black community is at 25%, the highest since Lincoln, you obviously don't know that his support has never been that high among blacks and that blacks used to vote equally between political parties so every Republican presidential candidate after Lincoln thru Nixon got at least 30% of the black vote. The only exception was in 1964, when Goldwater only got 6% of the black vote and the south "magically" began it's migration to the Republican party. I think you've been watching too much propaganda TV, i.e. Fox news...

I'll give credit to LBJ. The Democratic party was the party of racists and the Klan, but somehow LBJ and JFK turned it around completely by passing the Civil Rights Act in 1964. It's still unbelievable to me, but they managed to make African Americans think they were on their side.

In 1957 Republicans managed to pass the first civil rights legislation since 1875 (also passed by a Republican) Republicans voted for the bill 167–19, Democrats 118–107. And Strom Thurmond (Dem) filibustered alone for over 24 hours to fight the bill. Republicans passed another Civil Rights act in 1960. Robert Byrd, who was actually in the Klan, was still in the Senate until 2010 (Hillary called him her mentor)

LBJ, who opposed every civil rights act for 20 years, somehow was able to take credit for passing the 1964 Civil Rights act. Even though Republicans voted for it at a higher rate than Democrats.

He said later, "These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference."

And Ronald Kessler's book quoted him, discussing the Civil Rights Act with two Dem governors aboard Air Force 1, ‘I’ll have those ni**ers voting Democratic for 200 years’

And, sadly, so far he's right.

Republicans?

Literally went to war to end slavery

Pass multiple civil rights legislation

Not stand in front of schools, trying to keep out black children

Not populating the Klan and murdering blacks for decades

Again, it is very foolish to think that both parties Don't have racists in them..its human nature.

However, I still say racism is American as apple pie.

Of course, every large group contains individuals with biases

But only one party fought a war for slavery, supported the Klan, used armed soldiers to keep black children out of public schools, and forcibly put Japanese Americans in camps. To just say "meh, both parties have racists" is letting one side a little easy after literally fighting to the death for racism.
