I think you need more complete data. Tryst.link is a very small portion of providers in Rochester. You're missing entire demographics... That's why your data is as skewed as it is. Anyone with any familiarity in the hobby can look at that data and can tell that it isn't accurate. I recommend looking at escortbabylon and skipthegames for more local providers to add to your database. A lot of clients use providers from those sites, so the would be good to include in your study.

I agree with the bloke who said something about adjusting the price graphs as well. I know lots of providers who have rates between 150-300 and can't be accurately represented on a graph that only shows 100-200-300
Val, STG and EB would be a challenge because so many of the ads are scams. Eliminating ads that don't include a phone number could weed out many of the fakes, but even then still a gamble.

There are fake ads on Tryst as well. I'm guessing she put Whitney Rabbit's rates in there, even though most men on this forum have been robbed by her. But again - you don't know what your money will buy, because the graph does absolutely nothing to tell you about the quality or type of provider you are getting services from.
All I know is, if a graph was presented with data about COVID and the source had been collected from one website, you would write it off as biased.
This graph is no different. It's incomplete and doesn't share true data, only the kind of data that the creator wants to show. I'm 100% unimpressed and see right through it.

Actually tourism is a major industry in the Buffalo-Niagara market responsible for a $2.7 Billion (pre-pandemic figures) annual economic impact in the area. Also the Niagara Falls airport is a military base, host to the 914th Air Force Refueling Wing and the 107th Attack Wing of the NY Air National Guard...not to mention Fort Drum in Watertown, the main winter condition training base for the Army.
The border has been shut for a year or two, but sure we can look at 2019 and compare it to her 2022 graph

Fort Drum is 3.5 hours from Buffalo, a little more than 2 hours from Rochester. And up north. Maybe double check your geography

In the interest of fairness-- it would be nearly impossible to include quality as a reasonable metric. I'm a sub 300 girl... but my reviews and my long list of regulars who have seen me for a decade or more will all say I'm a quality girl. Likewise, I'm sure there is more than one disappointment in the 600 plus range.

For purposes of analysis-- what was done by the OP was perfectly reasonable and really, the only stats that can reasonably be measured for an analysis of this kind. Sure, its missing important data-- but its missing qualitative data- which is subjective.

It's incomplete and doesn't share true data, only the kind of data that the creator wants to show. She conveniently left out TONS of data that would have said the average is lower than it actually is to try and justify her higher rates. I'm 100% unimpressed and see right through it.

** wouldn't let me edit it

The qualitative data is really the meat of the industry - literally. You're correct, it would be impossible to graph something like how someone's experience is, because there are so many variants and things subject to change. However, the OP seems bright enough, and probably knew this, and graphed a price graph anyways. Why might that be? Sheer boredom? Love of the game? Or is she maybe trying to justify her higher rates to all of us by presenting it in a graph?

FYI, OP, you should never have to justify your rates to anyone. Your rates are your business. You don't have to make graphs and stuff to explain why you are charging what you are. That's your rate and that's cool, and you'll get clients who pay that. Just give it time and let your actions speak for yourself.

Any info is good info. Thanks for the time and effort to supply something different. I guess I don't see why anyone would put so much time into tearing it down unless it paints them in a bad light. If you dont like it, do better or move on. Nothing is perfect including you

Unless if it isn't correct, and then it isn't information at all.

Numbers are numbers, nothing more or less. What people make of them, well,,,

In this case, if the words “on Tryst as of mm/dd/yyyy” were added to the title of the study, it would clarify the scope of the study. Up to each of us whether Tryst is representative of “the market” and whether price information devoid of other information is of interest.

We should all be used to getting information that may or may not be useful. The media keeps reporting the percentage of positive Covid tests as if the number is useful. What it really tells us is more about who is being tested (sick vs healthy) than whether more or fewer people are sick. It’s an easy number to drive down - just force a bunch of healthy people to get tested in order to go to work, school, sporting event, etc. Or, give away a lot of tests for free and urge people to use them regardless of whether they feel sick or not. Or drive up by only testing people who are sick. But, I digress.

You are spot on. Data is important but pertinent data is better. “Intent” and data are sometimes dangerous. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Tryst seems to be the best gauge. Probably percentage wise the cream of the available crop.

You are mostly correct in your thinking. The reason tryst.link was used and not other platforms is purely technical. tryst.link is easy to navigate and took very little time write up a scraping tool to gather data. That's because tryst.link doesn't operate as forum like eccie or TER. Harvesting reviews is tricky because one needs to automate the process of parsing through text and categorizing it into positive and negative reviews. Tools exist to aid in this, but right now it's too much of a time commitment.

valkyra is convinced this account is operated by the provider Buzy, or that Buzy is paying for the report to be written to justify her prices which are above average for the Rochester market, neither of which is the case. However, even if it somehow was true, that wouldn't change the data.

The date is included! At the top of each of the plots is the date on which the data was collected. It didn't get around to being published until a week or so later, though.
