I got introduced to the hobby through BP. I've met a couple wonderful ladies there. Met some really troubled ladies also. Some of the ladies on BP are also here. I've ran into a couple ladies on this site that are troubled ladies also. It gets kind of confusing. Best we can do is help each other out. Give a heads up to any lady or guy that is a problem. Hope the things that will make BP a target of LE don't show up here and make us a target also. Be cool out there and be safe.

Like Elisabeth, I feel it's just an advertising venue. And agree that when traveling, it's sometimes the only venue.

Just like I judge people individually on their own merit, I wouldn't group all advertisers on BP into one category. I hadn't considered it until perusing and found very respectable ladies with very respectable advertisements. They may as well have been on EROS, which has always been a hotbed for fakes. I know in Dallas alone, there are at least 13. 6 of which have ripoff reports on TER and the rest are using fake pics. No matter where you look for your level of entertainment, there is always a risk of getting taken advantage of.

I'll always say there's a difference between a BP girl and a BP advertiser. The only thing a lady can do is distinguish herself as such.

That makes zero sense. If escorting were made legal, Backpage would then become THE leading marketing tool for girls. It makes sense. Legal services that operate much the same as providing are a natural fit for any clearing house for classified ads. Heck, if escorting became legal, I'd be doing back flips if I owned BP.

I seriously meant no offense. I'm sure there are very respectable and quality women on backpage, as it is definitely another medium to reach potential clients, which is a good thing for all parties involved.

Like another poster commented, I think you just have to do a lot of research first, to find the gems amongst all of the others. I at least like reviews here (and other places) and a profile on p411. And, as someone new to the hobby, I have learned that lesson the hard way.

I'm not sure why some people believe it to be so evil. I used to be a backpage snob and would never advertise there until about four years ago. I used to think that I was too good for that venue.

This topic has been bantered about a lot and I'll just wait for others to chime in, but I highly disagree with the general premise of the topic. I wouldn't like to see backpage go.

Of course, when and if it does, another venue will take its place.

I have to agree with Elizabeth. Travelling was frustrating and dealing with asshats from BP was also frustrating, but if you're any good at screening, if ya have half a brain, it's easy enough to screen out the asshats.

Don't kid yourself folks, as there are MANY asshats on ECCIE and P411 that will address a lady inappropriately, haggle, and simply not apply any type of hobby etiquette when contacting the ladies.

I advertise on BP occasionally, and have met a few really great guys from the site. However, they are far and few in between. There are times it has been a waste of time for me to advertise on the site and there are times after having advertised there, I wouldn't respond to any kind of correspondence for several days due to the stress of having to deal with some of the yahoos that had contacted me from there. I was very spoiled by ECCIE and P411 and have much empathy for any lady that has to start out on BP, because she is unaware of the other options available to her.

I love a true hobbyist, an intelligent and discreet lurker, and even an occasional newbie who is willing to learn the right way to hobby! I abhor cheap asshats who have no respect for women and who believe it's ok to address the ladies in any form or fashion.

Also, it's obvious that many ECCIE members peruse backpage, as there are many reviews of ladies from the the site and I have met with gents who found me on BP who are members of this site. So, best not to dis what one has no knowledge of. It ain't all good, but it ain't all bad either. ijs

I use BP sometimes because frankly I get more business from them then I do all the boards that I belong to. I use it because it works for me and I don't lower my rates just for BP and I do screen then well.

Considering how tough it is for Providers to get the word out on themselves, shutting down the BP section advertising escorts is not a very bright idea. It may not be perfect but neither is ECCIE, EROS or P411.

Lots of great Providers started there and wound up here. The reason they don't start here is because ECCIE doesn't advertise other services, things for sale, places for rent, etc., or...they just don't know about this place until they read about it or hear about it after using BP.

I wonder how many Escorts we WOULDN'T have were it not for BP.

Honestly there are pros and con's to backpage I've been working for about 3 years now on and off. When I first began p was working with a service and made.an OK salary I also met a few good men on the job. Since I began working again this year I learned more about backPage I've increased clientele and even gotten regulars. As I began backpage does have it's con's being that thereisn't any type of screening process with that being said anyone can. get on and do anything. The fact that a 13 year old can get on and post as an 18 year old get paid $20 and be happy with that when that happens it's no longer a competition because I'm not competing with a young girls ridiculous pricing. To conclude along with that there are sleazy guys there as well as the other sites and places where hobbyist meet companions. I myself try to keep a straight and legit business because for one a women should never down grade her self and there is always karma to deal with when your in this business.

Lots of sites to be found on the net, plenty of girls realize that the smart business model involves getting your "message" out to as many folks as possible. Therefore it makes sense to advertise in as many places as one feels comfortable with and thus increasing their exposure and gaining more clients.

It's also been mentioned that BP is widely available, some cities have no ladies advertising on the hobby dedicated sites and I've heard from a lot of my traveling clients that BP is the only game in some areas.

As long as a lady does her job and screens any potential clients it doesn't matter where they found your info at, only that your ad worked.

I use backpage along with eccie and whatever else is available but I use my spidey sense more than anything else. Experience in the hobby helps on both sides but common sense is the most important.

Bp is a tool for me here in upstate..since where i am located there arent alot of arena's
for us ladies to advertise in this area..if it werent for eccie..backpage..and a few newspaper places to advertise..rochester would be word of mouth to find us ladies.....

eros is outa this world with their advertising fee's and doesnt even have rochester listed..
so for those that think bp is trashy for some of us..its majorly all we got in certain area's..

i screen the same with eccie men as i do with backpage men..same thing diff site is all...

i kinda really miss escorts...they were great for us up here...
