That's not quite true. If there were no treatment, then there would be no need for hospitals to do much more than hospice. Ventilators are a treatment, they're looking at different drugs already out there as treatments, plasma is a treatment, etc.
Also, for the vast majority of people, Covid19 is not dangerous. If you have underlying conditions, you should take precautions. For most everyone else, it won't be much more than a cold or flu.

2020 mardi gras date: February 25.
Wow, it is said that Hindsight is 20/20
You should have gotten the hell out of NO long before that date, we understand that you wanted to party.
The mardi gras is why Louisiana has more cases of the virus than other areas of the country. If Kansas City would have continued with the basketball events, we would have a lot more cases of the virus.
Stay home, and stay out of hotels: do you really think they clean the surfaces in each room?

Not quite true. The Hep virus are treatable only for the symptoms, it never goes away. Not like germs that are usually knocked out completely.

I think you're confusing "treatment" with "cure". Treating symptoms is a treatment.

70% of Americans are obese or overweight, and 40% are diabetic or prediabetic. Both of these groups are high risk, and would get hit extremely hard if we were treating this like a regular cold.
Also, almost all people put on ventilators are never exubated and die.

The success rate of ventilators seems to all over the place. I see numbers any where from 50% to 70% mortality. Still not "almost all". If they were so ineffective such that "almost all" died when put on a ventilator, then why the huge demand to build them by the 10's of thousands?

The three sample groups that I'm referencing had 66, 86, and 98% of patients who were put on vents die.
We won't really know the success rate until a few months from now anyways.
The demand is because that's all that medical professionals can do to prolong life, in hopes that the person can recover. I'm sure that it would be hard to not intubate someone and just let them die rather than giving it a shot. It's also early with this virus, and doctors don't really know what they're doing
