I'm inclined to think the Viagra would do more damage to old men than the actual action. The idea is to get the blood to flow better, which is why if you take too big a dose of it (which older men may be inclined to do) it'll mess up your day. The action itself would have a part in it, but the body can only work so hard at that age.
