I'm not asking or suggesting anyone go to jail. Where you acquired that idea I haven't a clue.
Re-read the post.
I am surprised someone in the IRS with access to records has not risked being punished in order to expose President Trump's taxes. Considering the level of anger circulating throughout our country it is surprising someone inside the IRS has not done this. I find it refreshingly honorable.

your surprise is your proof of bias.

Yes, it is honorable. And, that said, maybe no one within that organization feels 63 months behind bars (or even longer) is worth it. Think leaker, *Reality Winner, would like a do over....?
*currently serving sentence in Ft Worth, Tx @ FMC Carswell. Transferred there, per her request, in order to treat her medical condition, bulimia.

I confess. I do possess bias. Yes, it's true.
I might be the only one on this board with bias.
Waco, you're groping for something, but I'm not sure what it is. Are you saying a man who possesses bias can't ask a fair, reasonable question or make a reasonable, thoughtful, unbiased comment? If you cannot accept this premise than you cannot understand that my intent with this post was to express my disbelief that President Trump's taxes have not been leaked. Leaks abound in this government. This White House is as leaky as any agency or department or any branch of government has been. Don't you think it is surprising that someone in the IRS, some scum bag who doesn't care about the value of confidentiality, leaks the President's taxes? As much as I believe the President should reveal his taxes, I also think it's a good mark for the IRS and its staff that this hasn't happened.

Is it possible that he didn’t file a personal income tax return?

once again to suit your goals you forgive the criminal aspect of such leaks under the "higher" morality of "the truth". let another fall on his/her sword for your morality. or lack thereof. let's get biblical about that .. said the atheist ..
"Let no one without bias or prejudice or contrary beliefs post their opinion here!"
so who here meets that oh so lofty moral standard?
none of us. get it? so .. remember that before you might be inclined to by your default bias to call Trump supporters all the usual platitudes (sic) like .. Bigot/Racist/Xenophobe/Nazi/Fascist/Dictator and my fav ... The DEVIL. just to name a few.

You're not getting my point, sir. I would not forgive criminal wrong-doing. If some one in the IRS leaked the President's taxes they should be fired and punished. What amazes me is that someone hasn't risked this punishment in order to reveal the President's taxes. Look at all the lawbreaking now happening as people try to promote their political points of view. Examples abound. Leakers everywhere, by every political stripe. The truth is that the truth is abused every day at the highest levels of government. Honesty has never been a common characteristic in the highest levels of government, but I have never seen more of this in my lifetime than now. The level of hate, the level of anger, the level of divisiveness --raging, spreading. Read this board. With that as a backdrop it amazes me that somebody in the IRS hasn't violated agency standards and leaked the President's taxes.

Sir - thank You for your constructive tone and posts.
In general - i have much in agreement with the above.
Unfortunately - i cannot support any IRS employee breaking the law - particularly for partisan political reasons
Your "Surprise" seems to condone such action as a "Sacrificial lamb"
I hope that is not the meaning of your post!

Thanks, Oeb for explaining that. I'm more than a little dense sometimes, and, yes, the word "surprised" can be viewed in differing ways. That said, I remain "surprised" that in this day and age Trump's taxes haven't been leaked.

About 20 years ago, my business was audited for the one and only time.
They just knew we were doing something that violated the tax codes. We endured their everyday snooping for 3 weeks. They could find nothing, because we knew it was never a good idea to skate the tax laws.
We finally had our CPA contact a Lawyer who was able to give them a (to paraphrase), “shit or get off the pot” ultimatum.
They left.
My point is, if President Trump was doing something that, through the years, violated the tax codes, the IRS would have came down on him?
Do you think Adam Schiff would take the IRS’s word if they said......”we have been looking for years. He’s clean”.
