Huh.
That's interesting. If I may inquire further...
You posted your last Eccie ad 8/30; I'd've guessed that a higher (ad) posting frequency would drum up more business; no? Monday Provider ad and Friday Weekend lineup, maybe?

I noticed that when you created your new persona, you also took on a racist platform. Was this something you did for business or is it just a reflection of your fun personality? Does your client base reflect that too? Would it be safe to assume that this is your brilliant business strategy? I mean, blatantly racist providers are rare, right? You may have tapped into a niche market that only you could fulfill.

I did chime in this thread, because I thought it was nice that Karma brought it up. It doesn't really pertain to me, but I thought it a nice gesture and reminder.
I have to say, I am amazed at the $ some people assume providers make. Who says a gal who loves sex, plays that many days a week/month? I know I sure as hell don't come close to 100k a year, but I am not complaining. Honestly, if I need to, I can make as much money at a regular job with my skills and years of experience in my particular field. It just takes longer to do so. I have less free time, so the hobby helps fill in the spaces.
Please realize guys, even if you feel like we earn 220/hr (or whatever the rate is) we spend hours and money on things like waxing, supplies, nails, advertising, playroom, etc. So, after we log tens of hours on the computer, lining up appts, and do a few sessions.. that does not average out to 220/hr. ~~ It is more like 100/hr average with time and expenses considered. Plus, the extra hour we talk after the session with nice hobbyers when we aren't in a hurry. ~So, please don't assume hourly rates = payscale. It is not that simple.
And, anyone who thinks, "that's more than I make".. when was the last time you gave your best, wholly and completely to another person, sexually? It's not as easy as you may think.
I just want to say one more thing on this topic...some feel that we should be happy to jump at the opportunity to take a low dollar session (just to get a bill paid). Have you stopped to consider that the risk factors are the same, so why should we risk our safety for a lousy 50 or 60 (barely enough for some groceries)?
I wonder if those low-ball rates include cim, or sensual touch, extra time to make sure you get msog.....?
Anyway, to each their own. I have always believed there was enough to go around for everyone. Just bee sweet.
Crystal

I'd assume that the starving provider Karma's referring to would be willing to work most days, wouldn't you?

That is a much higher rate than most of the guys on the board make.

Surely you have low-risk regulars. Also, I am grateful to work for $50/hour; I would never categorize it as 'lousy'.

There is risk in every single act. "He" may be willing to offer 50/60, but he will stay almost an hour, while you miss a good paying appt. Then, he will save his $$$ for the 20y.o. hottie. Oh, and on his birthday, he will call you and his other ATF and ask for a freebie. Later you find out, you are just a sucker! ...Remember, no good deed goes unpunished!
yeah 50/hr is pretty lousy when your jaw is aching from sucking for an hour straight. But, I didn't come here to complain. I just take issue with your assumptions about what it is like for us.
A true gentleman is worth GOLD!

Hey Crystal First of all I still look forward to meeting you some day.

..... Doesn't everyone in sales have to do the exact same thing? Everyone from Realtors to musicians has to spend far more non paid hours and personal income on gear than that in preparation of potential business. It is required in order to compete as a professional period.
"And, anyone who thinks, "that's more than I make".. when was the last time you gave your best, wholly and completely to another person, sexually? It's not as easy as you may think."
..... Isn't that ability what makes a professional provider a professional provider and not any ole chick off the street looking to pick up a few bucks?
Doesn't any Austin musician who makes ten bucks/Hr or forty bucks a night (less than peanuts) also give himself wholly and completely to his performance and trade?
"I just want to say one more thing on this topic...some feel that we should be happy to jump at the opportunity to take a low dollar session (just to get a bill paid). ....No one is suggesting anyone should jump at anything for any amount. The economy sucks for everyone so we ALL are trying to stay afloat and less service for any compromise simply reenforces the existing problem for local providers that started this thread.
Remember the thread topic was ......
"What do they (Local providers) have to do to get your CONSISTENT business back???" Members here were kind enough to respond honestly. They didn't have to.
No one is low balling local providers. You always come first to us. An honest legit question was asked and several legit honest answers were given. Don't heed the input. That is perfectly fine. No one is expected to do anything. The fact is Hobbyist have NO shortage of new extremely appealing affordable options entering the hobby daily. More then ever before and if local providers have no shortage of business then I suppose the entire thread is moot isn't it?
"Anyway, to each their own. I have always believed there was enough to go around for everyone. Just bee sweet."
.... I agree beautiful

Thanks, Codybeast. I appreciate your understanding, and much look forward to meeting you, very soon.
You are absolutely right about sales, etc. I was only taking issue that some seem to think we easily make loads of $. that isn't the reality for most of us.
So, thanks for being a gentleman in this thread. I appreciate you very much!

Well, of course! I'm not looking to be high-volume. I've gone two months at a time w/out posting an ad. I HAVE a regular client base. I ain't complainin', ya' see.

I was laid off last year. I am now working as a contract worker for the same company that laid me off, in the exact same job role, for 20k less a year.... AND no benefits.
I did what I had to do.
What was the first expense that I cut from my budget?
My stripper and provider fund... VALUE is the most important thing for me now.
I find a lot of value in 30 minute sessions... why pay for a full hour if I am only gunna pop once anyway?
I feel that many of the local ladies want more per hour than I am willing to spend.. no biggie, I am sure that they will do just fine without my money. Or will they? Apparently not, as per Karma.
I'm sure that there are many guys just like me who have had to make do with less money this year. We have 3 options.
1) stop hobbying
2) hobby less often
3) hobby for less per session
I chose options 2 and 3.
Hopefully next year is better... good luck ladies
LF

Oh no, not the southern thing. I was referring to the comment you had in your signature line earlier today which said "white meat is better than dark meat (proven fact)".
But I can see that you've removed it. I was honestly wondering how that was working out for you. I guess it quickly proved to be not such a good advertising strategy.
