So, the incident in BenGhazi has to be either a protest OR an act of terror and not both? That seems a bit stupid even if it was one group protesting and then committing an act of terror by attacking the consulate (not an embassy like some of you stated). If it was two unconnected groups it could definitely be both a protest and an act of terror using the protest to camouflage it initially. If your intelligence community tells you there was a protest and got it wrong (can anyone say WMD anymore?) initially then of course you are going to refer to the protest aspect. Since the pols weren't on the group in Benghazi they would have HAD to rely on the reports and intelligence they had at the time wouldn't you think?

The consulate had already been bombed in April and again in June: before the video trailer was posted on the inter-net. Repeated requests for additional security were denied. Security on-hand was reduced to an "artificially low" level by the State Department -- and those reductions had nothing to do with budgetary concerns: per Lamb's testimony. It was the 11th anniversary of 9/11 when the attackers assaulted the consulate with RPGs, mortars and assault rifles. According to Lamb, she watched those armed assaults in almost live time. There never were any "civil-disturbance" type of protests -- only armed assaults. And the administration knew that from hour one! So the question remains: why did the administration perpetuate the lies and a cover-up in the subsequent weeks?

We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.’

“It's true that the administration, including U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice, maintained for several days that the attack was spontaneous and the result of protests over an inflammatory anti-Muslim video. Meanwhile, CBS News reported on Sept. 12 that the assault appeared to be a planned terrorist attack.

“In his speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 25, Mr. Obama did not give any indication that the attack was an act of terrorism, instead repeatedly referencing the anti-Muslim YouTube video that allegedly spurred spontaneous protests.”
