Two suggestions. Nonna and Lucia ( if you can get in). Two of the best restaurants in Dallas.

Ok so we are at Twisted root. Had the sexy Hawaiian and it was great. Then to bobs for a little steak and wine. Today was a good day. Ok guys where to tomorrow? Thinking Italian for lunch and Mexican for dinner. Any ideas?

For real Italian food that is simply profound, there's only one place.
Lucia. Reservation is a must.
For French food that's authentic and priced right.
Boulevardier
Both places are must visits.

Not a vegetarian so i haven't tried spiral cafe but first chinese bbq and dim sum from kirin court is good. Just don't order from the last page of the menu from first bbq and stick to the duck and pork...lol
I tried LA burger in irving and like it a lot. Weird that kim chi and egg on a burger, hot dog and fries can be so tasty.

Wow, over 2 pages and no one has mentioned Babes Chicken House yes, WTF?!? Babes IMO is the best southern fried chicken in the metroplex, among the few other entrees they offer. They have locations scattered around DFW and the locations i've gone to are all just as good as the previous one. So far there's only one the Smoked Chicken there gets the thumbs down, i've tried it twice and both times it was dry and lukewarm, but everything else they have is fantastic.
BTW,Babes is BYOB so you can get hammered for a decent price if you're willing to lug a cooler in with you.

Babes is just okay IMO. I think a little overpriced for what you get. You can get better fried chicken from the Popeyes or southern classic chains.

Smoke, original location, amazing staff, interesting smoke influenced cuisine and beverages.
Javiers, some of the most authentic Mexico city cuisine you'll find stateside. Javier is ever present along with his new Lambo or Ferrari, great cigar bar, great people watching.
Wing Stop, silly as it seems their wings are outstanding when you want to binge. Order the fires extra crispy.
Eddie's Napoli, Frisco, great, simple, inexpensive Italian with a very attentive manager making sure it's always good.
Hop Doddy, burgers and Texas beer. makes Twisted root look silly in comparison.
Three Forks, still in my opinion one of the better steak houses in Dallas at high but reasonable prices compared to places like Al Biernats and Pappas Brothers.
Sushi Saki, Richardson, great Sushi, nice atmosphere in spite of the silly name.

Try Manny's @ Oak Grove Ave & Lemmon.
Authentic Mexican food prepared by family. Great for people-watching too and without the common Uptown snobbery. Leave the frills and fancy cars at the curb or home.

Shea,
With due respect, I spent many and eve and have eaten many a meal at upscale restaurants in Mexico City. Javiers is authentic in almost every regard compared to dining in Mexico City. Nothing else here compares...just because there's some conspicuous wealth at Javiers, that doesn't preclude one from enjoying the dining experience.
