Side bit after some googling. It was R. Lee Ermey that said it in Full Metal Jacket, and R. Lee Ermey was the advisor to Louis Gossett Jr. on "An Officer and a Gentlemen".

My USMC drill instructor said it in 1966: it looks like it has been said to most of the special guys in the Marines. Of course, the DI for the Navy Pilot boot camp was a Marine DI.

It all depends upon what one considers to be a swear word. Never the F bomb. Is calling one "shit for brains" swearing? A lot that came close to swearing, like maggot. Using the phrase Irish pennant for a loose string on one's clothing might, or four eyes for glasses, not be allowed today.

Texas bbq is pretty good. I've never ate any in KC that I can remember. Haven't been there since I was young. But from what I understand its a different style. So you can't really compare them.

I love BBQ RIBS are my Go to. I'm from Texas. Nothing like the BBQ in Texas but I've heard KCMO runs a heavy competition. Too bad I didn't get one of you guys to tour guide me in the KCMO BBQ places here.
