For example, we strongly suggest that you don't buy from a no-haggle dealer if the car's price is a lot more than the figure you'd pay at a traditional dealer. Yes, not having to haggle for a car is a benefit, and some shoppers are willing to pay extra just so they don't have to negotiate.

I debate cause what are the ONLY 2 items needed to drive this hobby? Girls and money. Hence we critique BOTH items multiple times on this site.

If I can't afford it, I don't move on per your advice.

Okay, since Legacy's and my parties have both been discussed here and opinions have been shared, it would seem to be fair game to weigh in with my own observations and hopefully clear up some misconceptions at the same time. (will be responding to several posts, so this will be another of my longer posts...)

First, the $30 cover for Legacy's parties is totally reasonable and a necessity because she has overhead, and given the work she puts in, it's fair that she make a few $. Her parties are fun and, depending on the venue, have been and hopefully will be again - epic!

While her parties have always included a MnG element, they have also almost always included the possibility of on site play, so neither event is. Conversely, while the physical setup with private rooms makes play easier for a couple or a small group, we've had guys come who only wanted to do the MnG thing. Some have done both over different occasions.

At the same time, given the space restrictions in a modestly sized 3br colonial (finished basement 4th br), I confess that I would prefer that the guys who attend are open to play. Again, more than a few guys over all the parties attended and did not play. I consider OSD and I to be friendly acquaintance and if we hung out more would be full on friends. If he wanted to come to one of our parties, he would be welcome (the only caveat being that if we were jammed up on space that I might ask him to take a pass or just hang around for a few beers to just do the MnG thing.)

I guess there's a little truth to feeling some guys expressed about being "pushed" to play, although I don't think push is the right word. I do try to create an atmosphere where guys will avail themselves of the opportunity to play. If someone attends and opts not to play, it's cool, even if I am disappointed, and feel they've wasted an opportunity, since some of these girls are not necessarily easy to reach anywhere else.

In case this isn't already clear, none of the donations provided to any girl comes our way. We shell out a few bucks to have mixers, soft drinks, snacks and maybe some cheap booze to offset any byob shortages. If we want to play, we are providing donations like everyone else.

Speaking of donations, each girl does her own thing and from everything I've been told, most girls are in the local marketplace wheelhouse and some are really reasonable. At the same time, a lot of these girls are currently dancing, and taking a Saturday night at the club to do a party puts them in the hole from the get-go. It only makes sense for them to attend if they are going to benefit (one girl took off because the party was starting slow and she didn't want to take the chance that she would lose out..found out later that at least 2 other guys wanted to do dances with her but didn't say anything for the hour she was there...smh). I try to point out that even the M&G piece can deliver value later, but it's a tough sell to ask a girl to give up a Saturday night at the club on the off chance that someone follows up later.

The girl Strapped mentioned and maligned (hope that post got him banned), is asking above market donations and I have suggested the same to her. She is happy where she's at. She only does this off and on to augment her day job, and can take it or leave it. With that said, she is one of, if not the best at play that I've ever been with (there's a reason NB is willing to drive back from the East Coast just to see her). At the last party I think she did just one dance and spent the rest of the party fooling around with another girl in the living room (was a great floor/couch/stairwell/kitchen counter show!). Also, she currently lives down south and only comes up to visit family/friends and to check in on some real estate she owns. So, despite her donations, it's a rare treat to get to see her.

One final note to bring it back to the original topic. I miss Legacy too! I've invited Leg to our parties in the past (she came to one but was exhausted and didn't hang around) and to be clear, she has an open invitation to attend any of ours, either to just hang out and socialize like Chloe often does, or to play if she is so inclined. It's always nice to see her.
