In today’s post we’re going to take a look at an article written for Syracuse Then and Now, in 2000. Its content displays the ironic idea behind the ‘viral’ pharmacy chain trend that has been targeting the heart of communities across America. Its quoted comments from local politicians stating that such profit-driven proposals cannot be stopped are, however, incorrect.
Local officials and board members can easily halt such plans, particularly in Beachwood, by making their judgement based on pre-existing land development rules that have been on the books to protect our borough and its residents from such abusive site proposals for decades. These regulations have served our borough well, protecting our waterfront, our parks and our general business and residential districts.
It now appears they will have the opportunity to protect the very heart of our borough as well – our downtown.

After 9/11, over night... a lot of Americans were, and still are

Dude, I don't know how to break this to you, but I see what he's seeing EVERY DAY.

There are two strip shopping centers near where I live that are almost empty. There's a third even closer that's about 1/3 empty. There are any number of buildings that used to house going concerns that are now standing vacant, and have been for as much as a few years now.

In Austin, Highland Mall is mostly vacant. It was for many years a MAJOR shopping mall. Other buildings are vacant, or repurposed significantly from when they were going concerns.

This economy is NOT healthy.

Inside Malls have been in decline since 2003. highland mall died/is dying because of all the gang bangers and the fact that people shop more online. Maybe we live in different Austins. I see businesses go and new businesses start all the time. Traffic is worse then ever for my daily commute so I guess thats a long line for their unemployment check pickup.
