Analisa,
That is so very sweet of you to write that!!! I love instruments, too. In my house there is a piano, flute (currently not playable) and a few electric guitars. However, I sincerely want a violin. I would putz around and play it all of the time for pleasure.
It's one of those things that I can actually afford myself. But with most women and men, it's one of those things that keep being pushed to the backburner.
The only violin that I have on my wishlist is just about $220. It's not horridly expensive, but as a mom ... my money always seems to be spent doing other, and more important, things.
With that being said, once I get my violin, I'll play it for you! In high school, I was all state with the viola. Played the violin all through school. I love the viola as well. But finding music for the violin is more accessible since the viola has its own clef to play on (C-clef/alto clef).
And a violin would be easier to get back started with! Maybe I'll get it myself for my birthday or something!!!
Back on topic, though, I do understand the post above about getting things that were within the price range of a regular assignation. However, many of the items that we want are items that are a little bit out of range on a normal week or in our overall budget.
Bartering will often provide for many of us a treat (or a need) that we would probably not have otherwise.
Which is why it's on a wish list or a barter one!!!
Hugs,
Elisabeth
