Not True. This is all on Putin who broke the agreement made in 1994 that gave the Ukraine their freedom and the Ukraine gave up their missiles. See Post #23. The Ukraine has had since 1994 to join NATO. If they had there would be a no fly zone and boots on the ground from NATO member countries right now. The problem with the current president of Ukraine is he just wants the military help from NATO, he doesn't want to be in NATO.

If they had joined NATO, the president of the Ukraine would not have to ask NATO for military assistance for an unprovoked attack. Article V would give them the military assistance.

From what I've read, Ukraine tried on 3 occasions to gain NATO membership. Little G. Bush supported them at that time and voted to give them NATO membership but a few other countries said no because they were "still too socialistic." To which Putin responded to Bush reminding him "that Ukraine is not even a country George." Then on a couple of other applications, they didn't get the votes because they were then considered "to have one of the most corrupt governments in the world." The same reasons NATO refused their entrance are the same reasons Putin wants to take them over. We may not have all the facts, but God does and there is a good reason why Ukraine is in this mess.
