Actually CJ I was on the way to class when I stopped to post so, yes, my time was wasted. Now I have time between classes. I supported Sarah Steelman and not Adkins. The commercial that I brought up was played in the KCMO area a few times. (cue sinister music) Adkins is the choice for the GOP (not exactly true before the ad buy) and why is that? (raise volume on sinister music) Adkins is TOOOOO conservative for Missouri. He opposed Obamacare, he opposed raising the debt ceiling, he opposes free healthcare for women's reproductive rights. Adkins, the GOP choice, is just TOOOO conservative for all of us. [paid for by the Democratic Senator PAC]. This ad ran during a primary and not a general election. MacCaskill can't even pay her fair share of taxes on her private plane but she is giving advice to the GOP on who she wants to ran against.

The guy misspoke. He meant to say real rape. He obviously doesn't think rape is ever legitimate. You liberals are despicable.

I am truly saddened that he fell into the liberal trap and failed to see it coming.
One of these days they will learn to go on the offense and stop playing the liberal media game.

The Drudge Report is reporting that this idiot Akin is taking steps to withdraw his candidacy for the US Senate seat in Missouri by 5PM today, which would allow the Republicans to replace him with another candidate. What was once a pretty sure pick up for the Republicans, had suddenly turned into an almost sure Democrat hold. (I know I said it would be a toss up earlier but I had changed my mind after thinking about it some more). But the report also says there is still a possibility that Akin could decide to stay in the race. Let's hope not.

CJ don't be a moron. Look at the time of my post, 2 PM. and you're talking about late at night. Think man!
Why would this be a almost sure thing for democrats now? Three candidates led the polling during the primary which was just last week. They all got about 1/3 of the votes and they all poll higher than MacCaskill. So either of the other two (and one is a woman) can beat MacCaskill. They can also use the fact that MacCaskill spent 2 million dollars promoting Akin over the other two. This is no Tea party guy. This is the democrats choice for opponent.

You raise some good points. But my fear is that if Akin does decide to stay in the race, that McCaskill will defeat him. Akin's statement was so toxic that it would be hard for him to recover enough to win. Also, Senator Coryn, who controls the money doled out to the different Senate races, had threatened to withhold the $5 million that had been set aside for the race, if Akin stays in the race. Akin would be on his own as far as fund raising goes. The Republicans really need to capture this seat, to ensure they take control of the Senate next year. And this was 1 of their best shots to turn a Senate seat.

It's actually quite interesting. I saw reports where Ryan actually called him to get him to resign, but a poll just taken still has the both-feet-in-the-mouth-to-the-knees candidate in front of McCaskill. And yes, according to a story on USA Today, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is prepared to yank $5 million in reserved airtime if he stays in.

Ok, then JD could very well be correct. I just don't want to take any chances here. We need that Senate seat
I just noticed that this is a Democrat pollster so I not sure I really trust this poll. I would like to see a Rasmussen poll, but hopefully Akin will be gone tomorrow anyway.

unless the republican senate distances themselves from the Ryan budget, I wouldnt worry about gaining any senate seats
senators are whores and they like older people that vote for them ... social security, and Ryan arent republican senators friend...
