If so,I guess they are trying the seperation of business tactic..and if that doesn't work they will start asking why other "seperate" sites like Eros are not being targeted. What a mess....

Cause someone like Eros, that only does this, would fight them to their last shekel. They have nothing to lose by doing so. Their whole business is erotic ads.

Craigs has a legitimate biz, so they caved -- kind of. By setting up the new site, they free their other business of the threat. This new site is thus free to go to the mat just like Eros would.

You have to remember that this is all political theater. Politicians always do this kind of shit before elections. And this year, incumbent politicians especially are looking for anything to talk about other than the economy.

He was going strong until he said he was "in" Vietnam not "during" Vietnam. Opponents jumped all over it. He did mis-speak as at other events he said "during." Not smart no matter what. McMahon highly seasoned campaign people have been harping on it. McMahon says she's not an "insider" but all her top campaign people are have been working for Repubs for a long time. I'm guessing biz as usual if she gets in, not that Blumenthal will be much better. A few of McMahon's ads are very good. I'm sure her campaign folks appreciate my endorsement from this forum.

Exactly. My point in the other thread on this. CL made a business decision. JUst like Target & WalMart don't sell pornos...because it is good business for them...

As long as you can go down the street and by a porno from a business operating legally that only sells pornos it isn't censorship.

Yeah no kidding...just plain dumb....if you are running for major office and have something that sounds good and is truthful, but is an outright lie/fraud if you cross a line don't you think you get the talking points right and be careful about things like in/during?

Well whoever it is has seen a potential opportunity and jumped in very quickly. Seperate the business into one place...and let's give it a shot. Even if they shut down in a week they will probably make some serious coin! If it's not CL and it works, then CL may have lost their opportunity to go this route. All pretty interesting stuff...from a biz perspective.

Yes but PJ...that's sort of what I'm saying..or am I misunderstanding you? Now that CL (assuming it is them) have set up a site seperate to their main site that creates a revenue supposedly in the amount of $45 million (the new site/adult ads that is) a year...don't you think they will also fight..for the same reasons as Eros? Or are you saying that the seperation has come too late? Sorry If I'm not understanding...I find this topic pretty fascinating and am interested to know what you mean. TY :-)

Edited to add: I think Eros run a much tighter ship. They are so finincky about the type of pics you can put on there..and as well as not being able to use acronyms...they also disallow smilies like :-) incase it's viewed as a "code." You have to prove who you are before you place an ad etc. Their lawyers are OTT cautious..but it's worked thus far for them..even if they can be a PITA to navigate.
