Cool. Interesting to read where this convo's gone since yesterday.

DownFW, thanks for your reply. Yeah, sounds like it's still a source of frustration for some folks. Hopefully, they 1. have a clear vision for their site; 2. have attainable goals for reaching their vision; and 3. have the resources to continually improve functionality to meet those goals.

As long as they know their issues and are working on them, hopefully it'll work out. They should hurry tho. Good thread btw.

Lemme shout out to Fancy for representing H-town well!

slixa is just the latest in a long series of websites advertising escorts/companions, going back to 1994 or so on the internet and father back in print.

unless you know otherwise, all the sites that advertise on eccie are paying for those banners or expando/collapso ads [left and right margins], etc.

and if eccie advertising allows a popup option, then perhaps slixa just paid for that option, too. tho, i dont see it on the eccie advertising page.

seems to me that other sites used popups here on eccie.
sure it's an annoyance, but if it is that bad, then boycott the advertiser or eccie.
but not necessarily the woman who advertise there [unless it's their website that pops up].

now, wrt how slixa runs their business and features, they're a service provider.
they offer what they want and charge what they want.
providers are free to choose use it or not.

While the providers aren't causing the popups, they are choosing to advertise using a service that is obviously annoying hobbyists to the point where people are boycotting that service.

I don't think that's short-sighted at all. I think that's capitalism at work.

There's a blurry line that separates effective internet advertising from annoying advertising and it's pretty obvious which side of the line Slixa is on. I predict Slixa will fail and disappear as soon as they run out of funds from their business loans...

It's annoying beyond all belief. Everytime I click on a link whether it be a showcase, review, or ad I have to deal with a damn popup. I will never use that site and if I find a provider on her using it I will not see her. If enough of us take a stand the ladies can put the squeeze on slixa to stop it.

Default Switch browsers?

I am using Chrome with no ad block extensions and I haven't seen pop-overs/pop-unders in months. Not sure if visiting eccie in Incognito mode makes a difference or not.

I signed up for an account on Slixa, but Its really confusing and I don't think a lot of hobbyists have signed up for it.

i am using IE 9 and get NO popups. Do you have your pop up blocker turned on? If so, make sure you did not add that site to the OK list.
