Special protections for groups preferred by government don't make 'em equal ... it makes them special, to the detriment of everyone else.

HERO got knocked down because of the hidden gay agenda that was in it. Why do you think she passed it without having it put to vote? Gender identity? Bull shit if I ever respect that as being legit. Porker & the Gay Mafia Houston Chapter failed at their assignment. This is why retards across the nation are trying to label Houston as being retarded as if that is going to pressure us to change our minds. Remember she went after the local area churches for speaking out on Homosexuality in their sermons as if that was something new.

Here's your gender identity at work. Btw, this fucker is a cross dresser nothing more.

I voted 'No' because it didn't cover gingers, chubbies, short people or the left-handed. Frickin' narrow-minded City Council!

Heh, the Maestro of Eristic Argumentation holds forth. Thanks for giving me the chance to use "eristic" appropriately.

Point taken, but first I had to get my google fixed so I could find out what the hell is the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act...I had never heard of it. Figured it was new and that's why it never came to my attention during my service '59-'68...the kind of shit only regimental officers and company clerks knew about, or cared about for that matter.

Shazam, the concept goes back to the War Between the States...actually a lot longer than that, I'm sure, because it's merely the codification of common sense, delaying civil legal action, foreclosures, etc., against active service members until they return to civilian life. More like part of the implicit contract between service members and the society they protect.

But, hell, that's no different from the compact between society and grown-ass men thinking they're ladies and wishing to wander into the Ladies', now is it?

Your assertion that the Relief Act was a detriment to everyone else is wrong...it's only detrimental to creditors. For a while. As an aside, I wonder if that protection has made it more difficult for service members to get financing? Additionally you said it protects veterans...I think it only protects serving members, during service only, and maybe for a brief time after separation from active duty. But it's all new to me...I never needed protecting that way. Did you?

To be more accurate I should have said that special protections for groups of people based on "progressive identity concepts" ... blah, blah.

this is exactly the way i feel about it, regardless of what gender you identify with dressing up as the opposite sex doesn't make you that sex. now if you decide to pull a chaz bono and do the full on sex change THEN you have a valid argument for using a particular restroom.
