The biggest downside to Ben going down is that Tomlin will now get a pass on this season.

I thought they would make a play for Earl Thomas, but he signed with the Ravens and back to form so far. Sean Davis is probably done as a Steeler. They needed a safety and quick. So it was a desperate move. But it makes sense. They certainly would have drafted another one next year. Fitzpatrick has the talent to be good. Time will tell.
Can’t disagree with anything you write and I’m an eternal Steeler optimist (other then Monday’s after a shitty loss), so I see the potential upside BUT:
We still have Tomlin...
And I know Miami sucks, but they are coached by a bunch of professionals. Why trade a young guy, a High first round draft pick that has a cheap rookie contract unless you think he’s not what you thought he was.

I’m still hopeful. I remember reading a huge article in SPorts Illustrated all about how great he is as a player and person while still at Alabama. Let’s hope.

Well, Miami does suck. And they’ve had constant coaching turnover since the Shula days. Even Shula wasn’t a big winner despite having Marino. He’s been there for 18 games and had 2 different coaching staffs. So I don’t think the kid was getting great coaching there. But he certainly got it at Alabama. He was labeled Sabans best DB ever at Bama. You can bet he has solid fundamentals and discipline. Will Tomlin/Butler waste his talent? Time will tell. They’ve certainly had better luck trading for DBs than drafting them.

Fitzpatrick wanted OUT of Miami, because they suck. They granted his wish and got another first rounder in return (I think they have 3 next year).

The way I figure, he's a pretty damn good very young guy that will be cheap against the cap for a couple years. At least they can't totally screw up the first rounder this year (cough...Bud...cough...Edmunds ).

Tomlin, by dint of the Rooney rule being named the _Rooney_ rule, is gonna have to go 2-10 a couple years running to get the axe.

Cough cough Bush. He’s over matched in the Pros. Gets pushed around and can’t cover Pro tight ends.

Barron was much worse, Hayward was invisible, the whole o-line was awful, and the whole coaching staff needs canned.

Rooney should sell the team. He’s out to lunch. Dan wouldn’t stand for what’s been going on the past few years. Artie won’t fire Tomlin. He gave him an extension. Colbert might be the fall guy.

When the Bills come to town on December 15, it will not be the return of ECW, it will be the Bills mafia slamming people through a table here in Pittsburgh.

Bills fans can visit the southside and see what a Lombardi trophy looks like.

Ouch. At least Walmart will be sold out of tables this week in western New York.
