On July 14th, 1968, Glen Campbell introduced America to "The" Cream! ( That's right, it was their original name & after awhile they just said "Cream") Glen was the host of "The Summer Brothers Smothers Show" which would become the "Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" for 4 Seasons after this! THIS is yet Another reason ( other than Glen's Pop hits of the 60's & 70's, not to mention all the session guitar work Glen did from Elvis to the Beach Boys!), why "Glen Campbell Should Be In The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!"~ because he had introduced so many people to different kinds of music from Country to Rock with stuff that maybe mainstream America would have not listened to ordinarily...even the Beatles appeared via video on Glen's show. In the early 90's, I talked to Glen about this very show and he told me how he & Clapton traded guitars & jammed during soundcheck before the shows taping that hot July day at CBS studios...if ONLY the cameras were running, if ONLY the tapes were turning...if ONLY to be a fly on the wall. ;-)
