The FACT remains that there has been absolutely no proven correlation between Trump's negative comments and the NFL. Attendance is NOT down. Ads for NFL games are holding steady. TV viewership is NOT down for the NFL anymore than it is for other shows. Is the sale of NFL gear down? Don't know but that may be the one area that has been impacted.

I certainly agree with you that people who were pissed off last year towards the NFL are still pissed off. They didn't attend or watch games last year and they didn't purchase NFL gear last year or this year. Trump's comments have had close to zero impact.

As I said before, and the 2 U.S. senators blasting Trump yesterday substantiate my feelings, Trump has far more important issues to think about than whether or not a handful of NFL players kneel during the National Anthem.

To those of you who are scratching your heads, I want to apologize for crunchyass.

His comments are confused & confusing, like him. He recently underwent gender reassignment surgery. After they cut off his dick, he rediscovered that he likes women, not just men. Problem is, the surgery is irreversible.

I am not particularly a football fan. Not anti-FB, just not something I follow with great intensity.

But a senior partner in one of the very big Ad agencies sent me an item last night that seems rlevent:

--week #1 of the NFL season, the weighted ave of "viewers that the Ad community's big customers cares about" was down 11% from last season

--week #6: it was down 6% from last season

Their take (and these guys are very politics neutral):
--NFL attendance is down a statistically significant amount from last season
--Trump and kneeling have had no real effect one way or the other--the adjusted numbers have actually gone UP a little since that stuff started
--They believe the bigger mid-term (next 5 years) issue is the shorter attention span that is making NFL games less appealing to the teen age fan base (they have a measure based largely upon early game people watching vs end of game people watching)
--And long term (10 year), soccer. Not that soccer on TV is likely to be huge, but kids growing up playing soccer instead of football likely means less dedicated FB viewers.
